The Witcher Season 2 - Angry Review

The Witcher show is awful. It’s a dumpster fire. They have completely derailed the story.. it has almost nothing to do with the books and games anymore.. It is not staying true to the source material at all like the producers claimed it would.

I felt the writing was fine, not having read the book. I think it was better than season 1, I think the creators need some freedoms to explore. Still better than the crap Halo and Picard and 90% of the stuff out there

Season 2 was good for me probably because I didn’t read the books as I’ve heard some book fans absolutely hate this season. Nevertheless I still love this show and continue to be impressed by how well Henry Cavill does as Geralt of Rivia. He is the perfect casting. I hope next season does tries harder to satisfy book fans and we get some more solo geralt stories. I just love when geralt goes on a solo adventure and gets pissed off by whoever he encounters. About the casting I do have to agree that Triss hasn’t won me over yet. Yennefer is fantastic in my opinion, Ciri became great this season, Geralt is one of the most genius castings ever Henry Cavill has made Geralt his signature role. I do have to say that Dikstra is some very underrated casting. I don’t know the actors name, but he is great. Now the big one: I assume most of you watched this season by now so I’ll just say it: Emperor Emyhr should have been Charles Dance hands down. He voiced him in the game and he could bring that Tywin Lannister energy, which he does so well and he would make him such a fantastic villain. Just toss him in some makeup to make him look younger and you have a fantastic character.

The Witcher series is trash

I was just glad to see they fixed the Nilfgaard armor, idk if everyone forgot but the director purposefully made them look like actual dicks. Scrotum texturing and all. In season 2 they have given them proper decent looking medieval armor. There are moments that I can nit pick, personally I don't like Cringilla. Idk if its how the actress delivers her lines or what. But honestly I just found her to be incredibly annoying and useless until like the end where she finally does something.

I’m really glad Alex is here. I’m in love with all things Witcher, but this season was bleh

At the end of the day.....if ppl don't like it....they don't like it....doesn't matter if it is not faithful to the source material or boring or low budget etc etc...

I love this show man. Season 2 already got a bit sloppy but I love it. I wish they decided to stay as close to the source material as possible though.

I guess they forgot about the vampire nudity from the first episode.

Season 2 was completely unwatchable. The first episode was a weird beauty and the beast parody that did absolutely nothing to advance the plot. A whole episode was spent on ciri running through a course when a single scene would have done the same job. Though frankly any time with Freya Allan on screen is a waste, she is possibly the worst young actress of this generation and that says something. The entire first 6 episodes could have been condensed into a single episode. Nothing really interesting happens until Geralt reunited with his old pals and even then- underwhelming. Cavill's acting was on par and possibly the only thing that saved this show but if I were him I would be pissed at the hit this is taking to his reputation as lead for this massive load,.

The Deadless Mother is quite good, is not in games and in books but it does make stories interesting

If it wasn't for Henry Cavill, this would be unwatchable. The Eskel change was just ridiculous and the justification was "we wanted to kill someone the book readers knew". That's the level of thought we're dealing with here. Not only that, but the plot leading to his death makes no sense. Witchers would know if Leshens could infect someone, which I don't think is lore accurate at all. They would not let a wounded witcher just prance around with no-one looking at his wounds. It's too dumb. I stopped watching at that episode. It's just another mediocre show using a loved property as a front.

Honestly the only reason why I think it's watched as much as it is is because it's decent television on Netflix (and better than 90% of the stuff they throw out)

I don’t think Alex was paying full attention because at the point where triss is talking to Geralt and he is moping around at kaer morhen triss does not know he knows Geralt.

Purists need to be okay with the tv show not to duplicate the books or the video games.

Not even the lord of the rings movies were complete copies of the books.

Season 2 3/10... Real shitshow

Season 2 was a big step down for me in many ways. Lazy storytelling, confusing timeline, uninteresting characters to name a few.. It's not as bad as The Rings of Power but 8/10 seems too generous. Personally it's more like 6/10. Now that Henry Cavill is gone, things will get much worse for this show. It's no wonder why he left the show.

Wasn't Triss hiding the fact Yennefer was alive in games as well, just so she could get in Geralt's pants? I could swear there was something like that in games.

Couldn't even finish the Witcher Season 2 as it was so boring. It was a totally different show to the first season as it lacked the tension in the story telling to drive your interest to the next episode. You didn't care what really happened next because the writing was shit. I really hope they go back to whoever did the first season.

I agree with the second guy. Season 2 basically sucked. I couldn't even get through the whole season because it made me angry. Vesemir and Triss which are actually major characters in the game are badly miscast. Writing sucks big time. No wonder Caville quit the show.

What do you mean there was no nakedness in season 2. Alex just said that one of the things that annoyed him was when they brought prostitutes to the secret and hidden Khaer Moren. Some of them were naked, some of them were less naked and there was most definetely humping. Weird.

Season 2 was no Witcher. It was not even Yennefer or Ciri.
It was "The Fringilla" TV show.
Even H. Cavill didn’t liked what the show runners were doing to the show.
So glad that he eventually decided to move away from that BS.

I just hope Netflix will sell the rights to some other producers that will make the Witcher show we should had from the beginning.

They should just cancel and give the rights to someone else who will actually be faithful to the source material

Series 3 was bad but series 2 is still the worst
