Great video
ОтветитьNever use standby on this amp.
Turn volume to off.
Put in 2 KT66 tubes and enjoy the low end grunt.
Love it! Rock the socket!
ОтветитьI was working on my friends cheap SS guitar amp and it kept blowing fuses and showing there was a fault. I couldn’t see anything wrong with the amp every component I tested seemed fine so we decided to say fuck it and just see what breaks if we put a bolt where the fuse went. Fired it up and the amp worked perfectly fine.
ОтветитьI find "You snot gobbling pig c**t of a hoour" (this is the word whore pronounced by an angry Irishman) is a good way to vent. Not allowed to use it in front of wife though.
ОтветитьThat's calling a spade terminal a piece of shit!
ОтветитьWow! 300$ for a power supply transformer! Could an industrial transformer builder workshop do the same item for less money? Output transformer are very special but the main supply I don't think so.
ОтветитьI’d agree with u on the heat from the tubes but those combos are hated for the fan it’s so powerful and loud that it keeps the amp super cool but if u have any drives on u get a bit of hum
ОтветитьBrad, we love your work Buddy! Would you consider working on a Gibson G-20 solid state amp from early 70's? Still has a tube like tone! Thanks, BluesFully, DW🎶🎵🎷😎
ОтветитьBrad, I am amazed at your abilities. Truly. You can repair amps through understanding how they work (not just a replacement guy. There is a huge difference), you can repair guitars (frets, boards, acoustic tops, etc) and you can actually play a guitar, drums and sing! Watching you go through a amp repair has a calming effect on me. I love to watch yuo walk through the process. Thanks for your channel. I appreciate you. You are the kind of guy I would enjoy living next door to. lol Thanks, dude!
ОтветитьThese Chinese pieces of s*** are not meant to be repaired.. I've been in mechanic for 50 years and have noticed cars are getting to be the same way.
ОтветитьThe bitch switch is a bitch.
Ответитьwere all OCD cause were watching this channel but this packaging is next level
ОтветитьI admire you stick-to-itiveness. On a different not though, do you happen to know what speakers are in the Fender cabinet that you use?
ОтветитьDesigned and engineered in a two car… car port. No cap. Nice work!
ОтветитьPeople should go to jail for a switch like that...
ОтветитьFull blown racial epithet at around 42 minutes...wow. Last video I watch from this pile of garbage. Way to represent Kentucky, pal.
ОтветитьWhen you pulled that lead - yeah, I was cussing with you. I modified my '68 Custom Reverb Deluxe this week. New board with circus boards just aren't built to be worked on. I exhausted my entire collection of choice words this week.
ОтветитьIsn't there a small cooling fan ?
ОтветитьLocking terminals, facing the wrong way for you to service it. Cant get a flat head into it to unlock it, they’re upside down? Run into this all the time. Vending machine field service guy. When I put them back in I flip em so next guy doesnt have to fuck with it.
Ответитьjust sent a Laney down to the states from Alaska , my crate was better 😆
ОтветитьAlthough the switch is probly a crappy quality type , those twrminals are locking type terminals, there a tab you have to push to unlock them vefore pulling
ОтветитьJCM 800 boards , overheat and twist without tubes mounted directly to them
ОтветитьLonnie Mack kept a fan cooling his amp back
Never had an issue or repair need
Have you ever had a Soldano Designed
Yamaha "T" (USA Built) series amp on your bench ?
I had a few in my rehearsal studio rooms
T 50s and T 100 s
Don't recall having troubles with them
Hey dude, from 40years experience, do Not use negative feelings towards your task at hand, negative emotions make humans stupid. I have learnt to "just do it", because at the end of the day, that's your duty to others❤
Ответитьcan anyone answer me whey they waste two entire preamp tubes on the reverb circuit?
ОтветитьSounds great!
ОтветитьThat name Pyotr is pronounced (Pee Odor
ОтветитьYou absolutely CAN unplug those spade connectors from the switch. The trick is to use a pick, or small screwdriver to lift the center portion of the female spade connector to disengage the lock from the hole in the male part.
ОтветитьI guess your woodworking skills were challenged
ОтветитьWhen U whear good! Stile waiting.
ОтветитьKeep up the good work, Brad!
Thanks for the warning, and thanks for the French. I'd like to extend another warning on the Buggera v5. It sounds great, but the tubes are permanently installed (12AX7 and EL84).
Cheers!
I love how ocd the way it was sent to you . Thank god for people that smoke to much weed
ОтветитьHey mate I had one of these, that switch can short inside between poles when turned off and the only fuse behind it goes. They fixed it in the next revisions but best to just take the standby switch out of the circuit on these, as it can happen again.
ОтветитьSweet ass intro
ОтветитьLOL You used a Dynaco ST-70 cage for your dummy load! Or maybe 120 but hilarious
Ответитьmr amp no fuses lol
ОтветитьMy thinking is, these kinds of troubles are the reason why solid state amps became the standard. The high tension voltage was too much for the average consumer to handle.
ОтветитьBitching about Pyotr Belov when it was Mike Soldano who did the layout 🙄
ОтветитьAt first, I was gonna say man that thing is a piece of shit. Oh my God that’s got really a pretty technical design to it. I hope you don’t have a power transformer shorted or soon to short, but that is really pretty clever and very sophisticated cool
ОтветитьI figured so
ОтветитьIf you’re still blowing fuses, then you probably shouldn’t be going through a variant because somethings are going to be pulling amperage to make up for the voltage loss so there you go
ОтветитьKind of a noob to electronics repair here; I own the same amp and am trying to do the same repair and was wondering, on the wires coming from the secondary of the transformer, there are some that are the same colors. How do you go about knowing where they go on the board, or does it not matter for the ones that are the same color? I notice there is a white and black wire that get grounded, and then other white and black wires that go to the board etc... But anyway, great video, I've learned so much about this amp from it and your videos are super informative and entertaining!
ОтветитьThe good thing is there’s a fan in there.
ОтветитьIt seems that Amp turned out to be quite inspiring.
ОтветитьOh shut up and tell us about the amp
Ответить
