Winter Island Visit, Mohawk River, Scotia, NY

A short walk on the frozen river was a bit nerve-wrecking for ME; someone that doesn't do it often. A few hours to see what the island looks like during the winter was worth the effort. There is definitely signs of deer there. Seeing the dog play on the ice put a smile on my face, even though he doesn't know that he was ON the river, he was having a ton of fun! During winter, the island has different vibrancy, quiet and peaceful. Once we started to head back, I couldn't help wanting to stay for a few more moments; the escape from the fast paced life of the city coupled with relaxing the soul, even for an hour. It was fantastic.
