What a motivating conversation between these two great scientific researchers.

Dr. Andrew Ng is a respectful scientist in AI field, while Dr. FeiFei Li is a politician and an opportunist. Don’t be fooled by her stories. She took advantage of “Me-Too” movement to take over the Stanford AI Lab after Andrew Ng left Stanford. While being the director of Stanford AI Lab, she was trying to sell the Stanford AI Lab to Tencent, a Chinese tech giant. During her internship at Google (as a VP for Google Cloud), she leaked the company secret to the media to oppose AI technology for US Defense. She is dangerous.

Would be wonderful for Fei-Fei Li and Andrew Ng to work with the Center for Humane Technology as well as with the Stanford based authors of System Error: Where the Tech Industry went wrong and how to Reboot! And to consider conducting extensive research on potential unintended consequences of the tools they create before the tools are deployed on the rest of us.

I love hearing the immigrant stories. The US is still a beacon of hope for millions of people across the world and we come here with one goal in mind, improve our lives. Optimize for making sure every step is towards a better life (most often measured by education, money, professional success, and family well-being).
