I disagree with Hasan on certain topics but I always respect his work - especially after he raised $1 million in 1 DAY for Palestinian aid the moment the genocide began. I also strongly respect his stance of taking people who have GENUINE questions in good faith, even if they come from a bigoted or rightwing background. He at least tries to make a point of reaching across the aisle NOT to capitulate to horrible policy or behaviour, but to respond to someone who might be having a revelation or might be deprogramming themselves from years of harmful biases.

As a german, the fact that News is considered entertainment in america is just crazy to me. We have the "Tagesschau", presenting the facts and thats basically it. I feel like thats what Journalism is supposed to provide

Some hate Hasan for his political views. I hate Hasan for confidently lying all the time. Talking about things he doesn't know anything about as if he does. Defending China's conquest of Tibet and the horrific things they did because Tibet was also bad and less bad under China is saying invasion and annexation is fine as long as you can point out the bad in the other party. He would not say any of that is it was about US invading or annexing other countries. He would not look for an excuse but condemn it immediately. And these kinds of inconsistencies regarding his politics and morals are everywhere. Something isn't bad if one country does it but when the US does the same he will rage about it. He calls people nazi's just because they disagree with him. He has a hard time condemning the killing of civilians by Hamas and made fun of Houthis attacking merchant vessels and killing people by comparing a Houthi mouthpiece to Anime characters. But when Ukraine blows up a bridge that transports weapons, munitions, tanks and soldiers he calls it a war crime while he ignored the hundreds of war crimes Russia committed in the meantime. And then he is friends with authoritarian leftists who condone and make light of murdering civilians. Who are revisionists that try to whitewash the atrocities that happened under the USSR. Hasan stands for nothing but his hate for the USA. And if challenged he will demonize people and use every debatepervert trick in the book to avoid revealing and defending his real positions which are far more sinister than people know. He also won't own up to his mistakes without trying to justify them at the same time. He's disingenuous and even many of those who disagreed with him respectfully have had Hasan berating them and screaming all sorts of vile things. Then usually the people that disagreed will get purged to reinforce the echo chamber.

People should stop promoting this vile person.
