DAVID HORNILLOS - Mediodia - Madrid: Dalpine, 2014.

A estação de Atocha de Madri era anteriormente conhecida como Mediodía (meio-dia), pois era o centro ferroviário da cidade no sentido sul. Este é o local onde David Hornillos trabalhou entre 2011 e 2014, durante as horas centrais do dia.
Mediodía apresenta um mundo envolvente de tijolo laranja banhado por uma luz vibrante que atrai e prende irresistivelmente todos os seres vivos como uma rede de arrasto. Com a cor laranja em protagonismo, o trabalho de David enfrenta o espectador contra essa parede de tijolos, atraindo-o para a atmosfera de um estado mental sufocante e hipnótico.

Madrid’s Atocha station was formerly known as Mediodía (Midday), as it was the city’s Southbound railway hub. This is the location where David Hornillos worked between 2011 and 2014, during the central hours of the day.
Mediodía presents an enveloping world of orange brick bathed in a vibrant light that irresistibly draws in and traps all living beings like a dragnet.
With the colour orange in a leading role, David’s work faces the viewer against this brick wall, drawing him into the atmosphere of a stifling and hypnotic mental state.
