As you visit different destinations launching your boat, do most places allow temporary parking of truck/trailer and, typically what’s the daily/monthly charge? Great informative video!👍
ОтветитьExcellent video! I have also trailered a 8'6" beam cruiser around the east coast since 1999. First using a 1994 23' Regal then a 2000 27' Doral. I find that there are few decent 8'6" beam trailerable cruisers manufactured in the US with sufficient comforts and range for my type of cruising. Ranger Tugs and Cutwater boats fill a unique premium niche. I am not sure I would feel comfortable towing a boat with a wider beam for several reasons, mainly due to restrictions, but for those folks that do, excellent!
ОтветитьWhen it comes to towing boat width, the great majority of states – 47 to be exact – do not require a wide-load permit as long as your boat and trailer width does not exceed 8 1/2 feet (102 inches). The exceptions to the norm include New York, New Jersey, and Hawaii, which have an 8 foot (96 inches) limit; and North Carolina, which allows a generous 10 foot (120 inches) for boat and trailer.
ОтветитьThank you so much! This video has really helped me and my wife decide on what length of Ranger Tug to go with. I myself have always wanted to trailer the boat but I could not decide between a 25, 27 or 29. We are still a few yrs away from owning our first Ranger Tug but at least we have a plan in place now as to the length and it will be a 29. I spent the majority of my time in the US Coast Guard on the water and can't wait to get back out there!
ОтветитьHi there. just to let you know, Rideau is pronounced Re - Doe. Other than that, great video! we've been looking at Ranger Tugs for some time now, as well as cruising the Great Loop.
ОтветитьThank you for this video. Wholly NEWBIE to trailerable trawling in a tug; this video does explain the advantages. Insh'Allah, I will complete the last leg of the Great Loop in my toy tug this summer from Long Island NY to the Great Lakes. That journey began in 2005 from Wisconsin. Ranger is Boat #3 for the journey - an experiment in boating for a die-hard cruising sailor.
ОтветитьThis was excellent. Very helpful.
ОтветитьIs there a reason why these boats are so expensive ?
ОтветитьThis has been an amazingly educational video for us. We are new owners of an R25 Ranger Tug. Planning on doing the North Channel in a couple of weeks. Thanks for your guidance. So many possibilities!
ОтветитьThese Ranger Tugs are pretty cool. Like a RV on water.
ОтветитьReal nice job, I have enjoyed all the "As the Prop Turns"
