The pokenav and areanav are the best features ever added into the series

this is the first time game freak favored one version over the other but not the last, the sun games are clearly favored by game freak over the moon games, at least in oras they tried to hide it!!! i never realized it with oras until this vid

Too many legendaries. It took away from the novelty of hunting them down in other games.

For me the graphics are also very important. Seeing sun and moon change how Pokémon worked and improving their graphics is extremely important in my opinion for the immersion is integral to the experience. Having the world no longer be on a grid based plane and the characters being full on avatars was mind blowing to me

The real problem I see with ORAS is that Emerald did so much more with the plot and did it seamlessly. The Delta episode felt so badly tacked on at the end, and had so much less care in it's craft... I had such high expections after HGSS, I think it would never match it. It just left me feeling like the game was hollow and wanting to play emerald again. Can we get an Delta Emerald that keeps in the improved plot of Emerald and that insanely good difficulty that I loved it for?

I really enjoy your perspective, I kind of fell out of Pokemon in the 3rd generation but what an adventure! I love surfing and diving, it makes me feel like a pirate. I wish you would do a playthrough.

I feel like you were maybe too easy on ORAS, when you started the video with how remakes should both remaster & innovate, I was kind of hoping you’d spend more time on how (with gameplay) this game innovates nearly bar-none. 🤷‍♂️

GSC were my favorites before BWBW2 came out but HGSS bored me too death honestly

ORAS should have, at the very least, let you pick skin color in the beginning, then allowed further customization later in the game. X and Y are my least favorites, but I was glad to see that people who weren't white could actually represent themselves a little better in what is supposed to be an RPG, then ORAS just took a dramatic step backwards there :/ Other than that, I just finished AS, and while it's no Soul Silver, it was still an incredible Pokémon experience, and actually has my favorite story line out of any Pokémon game I've played. Maybe it's because climate change is incredibly important to me, but I saw Groudon and Kyogre as metaphors for temperature and sea levels rising due to people abusing our planet on top of natural climate change. Groudon and Kyogre are like mother nature, they exist and are going to affect things no matter what, but like mother nature, if we take care of it and not abuse it for our own gain then we can keep the destruction at bay. Or hell, maybe I'm just a hippie who's looking to much into things, but that's the way I saw it, and I very much enjoyed the story.

Note: I missed out on gen 3, so my introduction to Hoenn was ORAS.

While Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire isn't my favorite Pokemon game nor my favorite remakes of Pokemon. I still enjoy these games alot & probably the only good Gen. 6 game to own for those who never experience the original.

Don't know if anyone is going to read this (I suppose its sort of silly to ask questions in a video that is quite old at this point), but could any of the fans of the series tell me during which gen Pokémon became more focused on story? I gave Ultra Moon a shot a while ago and I was really surprised at the massive focus on storytelling. I quit the series around Gold/Silver, so I've been out of the loop for a while. ^^

Gen 3 is my favorite and I was a bit disappointed in the remakes' soundtrack. It lacks the punch of the original, especially Team Magma/Aqua Leader's theme and Ancient Pokemon Battle. The new versions sound neutered somehow...

As someone who had the most memories with Ruby and Sapphire, I think these almost exceeded my expectations. Maybe it's because I never played Emerald for whatever reason, but I didn't care that the Battle Frontier wasn't a thing, though I think GF could have made it 5 or 10 dollar DLC.
Besides that, I like how they gave the villains actual depth instead of being one-note villains that barely get any development. Just wish we could have gotten some backstory, though. But I'll take ORAS Shelley and Courtney over RS Shelley and Courtney, who were basic bitches that called you a "brat."
Hoenn's music was pretty good, but the annoying trumpets/horns used everywhere did leave a lot to be desired and made it lack depth. I'm glad they completely redid the soundtrack. All of the music got a kick in the nuts, with maybe one or two exceptions.
My biggest complaint is basically the same complaint everyone (minus IGN) has with it: It's really easy. Granted, most Pokemon games are rather easy (minus Sinnoh), so I didn't have as much of an issue with it as others did.

regarding zinnia and the delta episode: "i assume it will be finished in a future game, maybe wherever the battle frontier ended up" lol almost 6 years later and nope not really

I wish they actually put the battle frontier in ORAS like they said they would.

Stopped watching at "Brendan is one of the standout triumphs of this game."

The Pokémon Games got easy since Gen 6 because EXP Share gives all pokemon the full exp points. If you have six pokemon you will get six times as much exp as if you had one pokemon if the exp share are on. This is so broken and makes your Pokémon level up super fast

ORAS and USUM have the best post game content I've seen out of every pokemon game I've actually played

I actually never noticed this video, but I’m so happy to see you basically share my same opinion on ORAS. Tragically underrated games, they did so much to flesh out the region.

Im so glad Gen 1, 2, and 3 got great remakes, especially after the tragedy that is the Gen 4 remake.
