Nice man!
ОтветитьThe fender sounds a little better.
Ответитьlovely mesa !!!!! :-)
ОтветитьThe Fender sounds a bit less nasally. Mesa has that honk going on always. Not a bad tone, my ears just prefer the Fender.
Also - Brand New
Why is Mesy taken from the middle ??? !!!
Ответитьfender all night long!!!!!
Ответитьfender sounds better every time
ОтветитьFender all the way.
ОтветитьNeither one of these amps sound good with those settings
The Mesa is not designed to have the kids turned all the way off
I have had both amps and I kept the Mesa for the Clean Channel it can be bright or it can be Blackface
i appreciate that you did this comparison, but the mesa's EQ settings are super questionable. i wish i could have heard it with the mids up at noon. trying to make it sound like the fender doesnt make sense, i want to hear the the amps in their natural state
ОтветитьThe demo does not do it justice, because in the eq the mid ones are removed and it removes him in body to the amp.
ОтветитьHow did you deal with the Fender Hiss and Hum?
Ответитьfor the hiss and hum buy a vintage shielded cables for the reverb tank and tube change out did on mine took care of it
ОтветитьI'd prefer a more real world example where you dial in the best sound on the mesa and dial in the best sound on the fender then go to town.
ОтветитьIf this is an el84 Mesa, it’s not really a fair comparison. The better comparison would’ve been the 6l6 one. No vintage fender used el84’s. All were either 6l6’s or 6v6’s
ОтветитьJesus Christ
ОтветитьThe fender sounds a little more harsh on the highs. The Mesa sounds a little bit more rounded of a sound and smooth. I like the Mesa better. I feel like I can get a very dark Western clean sound out of it.
ОтветитьI really dig both amps, but I would buy the Mesa after I buy a solid Fender (which I already own)
ОтветитьI owned a Mesa Mark IV in another life. Kicking myself for parting with it. The practical tone possibilities are endless. Fender sounds like a Fender, which is good. I don't always want to sound like Fender though.
ОтветитьI've been watching the clips from Jay comparing Mesa amps (Ace, TC, DR, Lonestar Special) to others and in every single one I found that the Mesa Amps were just not dialed right...
Even when trying to go for a similar sound, the Mesas really didn't shine like they should have.
I liked this clip because it wasn't one with a mix. Those "in mix" tend to have the Crunch Rythms set up sounding quite good as long as it's Power Chords, but all the parts that have single string notes, double stops, melodies and even more dramatically the Solos sound thin because they get so lost in the mix it's really hard to hear what's being played...
Same for Clean and breakup sounds.
A little is due to those overdubs/tracks' volume not being properly boosted but most of the problem reside again in EQ'ing the sound so that it will cut through the mix.
What sounds good at bedroom volume alone will NEVER work and sit correctly in the mix in a band situation (or adding guitar to a backing track).
I'm still happy to have heard some of those amps since clips for those are hard to find.
Brand New. Nice.
