i got my first filling today. let me tell you how it went. if you're anxious, that's normal. i was too. personally, i didn't feel the injection at all, and it took 10 minutes for it to fully take effect. after that, i felt no pain. mine was not too deep, and so they were done in about 10 minutes, and my half of my mouth felt numb for about 3 hours after that. it's about 12 hours later now and i feel small aching in the back of my mouth, the same kind of ache as if i bit my gum or something (not bad at all) :) remember, it doesn't hurt, and is not that bad at all. people say the sound of the drill is the scariest part but it's not really. it's not very loud and i was able to have earphones in the whole time. i hope this helps someone!

I thought one of the reasons we get cavities is because of those pits and fissures we have on our tooth. Aren't fillings supposed to make them smoother to prevent food from getting stuck in there?
