Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьMy favorite version of this song, hands down the best. The raw emotion, the accompaniment, the beauty of the lyrics... this song is just everything. I cry every time I listen. Nina's unique voice and passionate delivery just reels you in. Absolutely breathtaking 😢❤
Ответитьthis is very sweet and comforting
ОтветитьI first heard this song when I was 17...Not so long ago - a decade, to be precise. There is so much longing in her voice...it brings me to tears...
Ответить❤...
Ответитьj'ecoutais cette chanson de Nina Simone quand j'etais jeune fille..et j aime toujours autant l'écouter jouer au piano
ОтветитьSimply beautiful..❤
ОтветитьSublime.
ОтветитьExtraordinaria voz. Nina Simone, una de las mejores de todos los tiempos.
ОтветитьEXQUISITE!!! 😩😭❤Ughhh! The High Priestess of Soul, prodigy, Queen.
Ответить🙏🎤🎹🥰
ОтветитьNino Simone my legend
ОтветитьIts been so many years that Ive listened to this song. I had a Nina's greatest hits album that I'd listen to on repeat. I lived in SF as a bartender in topless clubs in the red light district. I lived in a residential motel. Single black female. Nina and Patsy flooded my eardrums.
Ответить😪 You make me cru!!! 😪💧
ОтветитьIt's a song dedicated and written for Jack Henry. He cared for everyone in NYC during Americas Civil Rights Era in the 50s-60s the song still applies today! Racist cops!
Ответитьthis song is so sad, i havent found another singer who sings as melancholy as nina simone. god bless her
ОтветитьI come here because of Fujii Kaze💙💙💙💙
ОтветитьJapanese singer Fujii Kaze covered this song on his ig 🎵
It's a beautiful song 💖
A beautifully sad song, and Nina Simone's version is by far the most touching.
Ответить"I Loves You, Porgy"
I loves you, Porgy,
Don't let him take me
Don't let him handle me
And drive me mad
If you can keep me
I wanna stay here with you forever
And I'll be glad
Yes I loves you, Porgy,
Don't let him take me
Don't let him handle me
With his hot hands
If you can keep me
I wants to stay here with you forever
I've got my man
I loves you, Porgy,
Don't let him take me
Don't let him handle me
And drive me mad
If you can keep me
I wanna stay here with you forever
I've got my man
Someday I know he's coming to call me
He's going to handle me and hold me
So, it' going to be like dying, Porgy
When he calls me
But when he comes I know I'll have to go
I loves you, Porgy,
Don't let him take me
Honey, don't let him handle me
and drive me mad
If you can keep me
I wanna stay here with you forever
I've got my man
This song is one of those that makes you feel every bit of the emotion exuding from the lyrics and the melody. It's what pain feels like in a song... That's really the only way I can explain it.
ОтветитьIf you can keep me
I wanna stay here with you forever
And I'll be glad... ❤
Spiritual music. Timeless
ОтветитьThis song is always able to move my soul in deep
Ответить@jamespre...and others. This song is from Porgy and Bess. The man that Bess wants protection from is not slave master. He is an abusive heroin addict and Bess' former lover. The police are pursuing the abusive man who murdered someone. Porgy is a disabled man, deeply in love with Bess. The libretto from the opera, Porgy and Bess, can be found online. Written by George Gershwin.
ОтветитьI love you Porgy ❤
ОтветитьBeautiful she sounds Amazing, one of a kind Voice, my sisters and I grew up on that kind of music, my mother and father play that kind of music, may they rest in peace, I really miss both of them so much when I here music like this I think about them.
Ответитьthis isn’t the exact version im referring to (the 1966, Nina Simone with strings) but this just as great
although this so has been done by everyone and she might not be the person ppl say sung it the best. I think it is, the pure emotion and voice just wins it out for me. it’s so sad and happy together because especially on the 1966 version
A sorrow queen with her lonely piano
ОтветитьI love you Nina , such a sultry voice
ОтветитьSomething beyonce could NEVER do; sing without a long weave, sing without shaking her nasty ass body everywhere, sing with only a piano in the background.foh you little teenie bopper.were not fooled
ОтветитьI was listening to a cover of this song and thought it just had to be a new song. it sounds so modern. This was very ahead of its time
ОтветитьPerfect date night soundtrCK❤🎉
ОтветитьI was 10 yrs old when I first heard her sing I Loves You Porgy in 1957. My friend's mother had the album and every time I went over to Pooky's house, I asked her mother to play that song on the album. As a 10 yr old I was mesmerized by Nina's voice. Now at 78 I still love hearing her sing this song.
ОтветитьIt's going to be like dying, porgy
ОтветитьApparently Bette Midler sang this song at Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's slave plantation wedding.
.
I’ve never heard anyone sing this song the way Billie Holiday did back in her time. She use more words ,If you can find that recording it’s everlasting. I’ve never forgotten it. That woman could sing baby. thank you for your recording and your efforts nice. And bringing back memories.
