Musk is full of crap. It is much more efficient to work from home if it is possible. No commuting to work 3-5 hours every day sitting in gridlock. No fuel expenses. ( no tyre wear, maintenance costs, wear and tear on the car etc. either ) and less need for child care. And this BS from someone who complains about government efficiency.

There are works of different types, some can work from home and some from home.I'm a teacher and I need it necessary to have contact with my students while giving lessons.During corona period this work from home affected students adversely. On the other hand a housewife and some people have
to work from home. This means different types of work need different work place.

Anyone who could work from home should have that option. Musk says all of this, but he works away from the office. Does he go in now and then? Sure, but most of his work for all his companies is done remotely. This seems to be another example of it being okay only for me. I like Musk well enough but he is definitely disconnected and sees himself as morally superior to others.

Of course you can from home. Technology makes that a reality. Most of technical support and ITs actually work from anywhere overseas. Customer's service, anything that you can do through a computer, you can do it from home. You are an owner of several networks and you communicate with the universe. You must have a common sense.

It's called freedom Elon, and choice, and working remotely saves companies money, as opposed to cheap labor. The only thing messed up is your idea that workers shouldn't be in a position of control over their livesl. This is a narcissistic control issue on your part. I thought this guy was about cutting government spending. Is it not cheaper to have people work from home where they pay for their own electricity, phones, AC, heat, and internet connections? As I hesitate to debate with my hero,Elon Musk :) I have to say this is the same as why there are business owners and some who are employees.
My career choice would offer me the opportunity to have the luxury of working from home which does not say I work any less than the person who has no choice but to work out of their home.

Many companies during covid had their workers work from home I live in Las Vegas and during that time companies found a tremendous savings because they did not have to provide the office space equipment and other expenses associated with the brick-and-mortar location. The only reason musk is saying this is because he's on the bandwagon to cut back on government workers and they intend to issue a mandate for people that have been working remotely for 4 years go back to working in the office. The reason for this is to cut back on staff and save more government money for Trump and musk to misappropriate. I don't believe the moral issue for a second

Most of the laptop people aren't working. That's why they can "work" from home. The things that they do and call work is usually not work. It's the things that get in the way of work.
