I haven’t been impressed with Corroseal either. Try this same test with Rustoleum rusty metal primer.
ОтветитьNeeds to be alot thicker and cure alot longer ,I coating my whole truck frame with it and it worked great and has lasted 2 years
ОтветитьVht rust converter. Only way to go. Then paint. Then cosmoline. Shuts it down completely and for good.
ОтветитьWhy roku remote control there? Lol
ОтветитьRust never sleep
Ответитьawesome topic!
ОтветитьThank you for taking the time to do this review. Certainly saved me a lot of time.
ОтветитьThe right way to apply this product is to place it in the hopper and grab your sand blaster
ОтветитьI think your experiment is not a good example you did not have enough rust on there to be converted so when it got exposed to the element the parts that was unrusted and untreated I should say unconverted was exposed that's what you have you didn't you hit not enough rust to be converted that's why I failed
ОтветитьI have used Corroseal for so many projects... everything from rusty door hinges, wheelbarrows, outdoor furniture, fencing, and of course automotive applications. It is the MOST AMAZING PRODUCT I have ever used. I spent $16 on a 32oz bottle about 10 years ago & I still have about 12oz left!!!! IMPORTANT TIP: DO NOT STORE anywhere that will get HOT, like a GARAGE or SHED. The material at the bottom of the bottle will rubberize & you will lose product.
ОтветитьCan this be used on high temperatures like the exhaust pipe under the car??
ОтветитьAlso the half with corroseal had the most rust so just the painted spot looking better wasn't as rusty.
ОтветитьYou should go back and treat the rusty side with Ospho. A rust inhibitor, then paint.
ОтветитьI think you have to remove the rust first with steel brush then apply the rust converter...
ОтветитьStraight no-nonsense video. Thanks for uploading - useful.
ОтветитьI am seeing something that looks exactly like this called "FractionK" and I came on here to find a review for it. (it seems to go on white-ish then turns black, just like corroseal.
ОтветитьDoes it actually remove the rust or just colored it and cover it?
ОтветитьThe area that has some discolor is the area he technically never applied a 2nd coat.... The 1st coat never got to dry then he just spread oxidizing rust mixer around and never used more than 1 brush worth on the 2nd coat when he used 5 on the 1st.....
ОтветитьLooks like rayhog water based paint ?
ОтветитьWhat i've learned after countless videos, opinions & "experts" is:
rust is like taxes & death- sooner or later, it's going to get you. 🥺
POR-15
ОтветитьWho sells it
ОтветитьDarn great video.. DARN Great video!!
ОтветитьNice video, man! Seems like it's very similar to Rust-Oleum rustwandler, which has been working great for me in Denmark, Scandinavia, where it's VERY humid and the roads are salted every winter. But as you mention in your update, I too found out, that it's imperative to let the stuff cure at least overnight, before you apply more coats of it or paint. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. :)
ОтветитьThat wheel was barely rusted. You could have removed that with a wire brush easily. You need to show it on really rusty metal.
ОтветитьGood video. Thanks for the info.
ОтветитьI think this test means nothing. Before applying rust converter you should have cleaned the loose rust with a wire wheel. Make all as clean as much with it, degrease it and then apply rust converter. I will bet this time it will prevent rust much better
ОтветитьIf you look at the video of the before, you will see that the half that rushed through the paint was much rustier than the other side. Not really a fair comparison test. Should have turned the wheel 90 degrees and split the rust instead of leaving the right that was worse and coating it only.
ОтветитьCoroseal has done a great job for years on my projects...Wire wheel the LOOSE stuff. That is why this video did NOT show accurate results
ОтветитьRust never sleeps…
ОтветитьThe directions say to remove all the rust you can.. it really is funny though, for best results it shouldnt have anything but clean metal. Lmao no sh*t. But I think atleast removal of as much as possible and it being cleaned would yield better results. I gave the like because I was very curious in how it would work without the extra work. So thanks.
ОтветитьNothing fancy... just a rim job
ОтветитьWhere can I buy it from
Ответитьcan I use it on an exhaust pipe on a motorcycle or do it get to hot
ОтветитьUpdate
It works better if you apply coats until you don't see any more rust after curing. This may take several coats beyond the instructions. Then paint with oil based rust inhibiting enamel. That should do the trick.
