That was just perfect. Thanks so much for this. April Wine played a huge role in my formative years back in the late 70s/early 80s. I'm a bit misty eyed now! Cheers.
ОтветитьA fantastic documentary
ОтветитьI saw April Wine when I was 14 in 1978 at the grand stand in Toronto when Evil Kneivel jumped 14 Mack trucks....awesome show!
ОтветитьApril wine the true 70s rock n roll band long live april wine true heroes
ОтветитьWe played Roller in 1978 in our first band. We were big fans in rural Nebraska USA. I can’t believe we found their music so soon, but I followed their music for several years.
ОтветитьNo one band takes me back to the times of my youth better than April Wine. Everyone listened to the radio back then and they were always on it . RIP Myles Goodwyn
ОтветитьWow seriously great job. As opposed to trying to pull out a linear story in one sitting of a surviving bandmember. And I realize Mr. Goodwin is dead so that would’ve been impossible anyways but my point is you took the best bits and most informative bits over the last several decades and strung them together into a comprehensive and cohesive documentary focused on the songs and the music for the fans. So often a music documentary is focused on the artist and the songs that recorded almost seems secondary except for a couple of the big hits. Bottom line fantastic job that I really appreciate since April Wine has been one of my favorite bands for the last 50 years.
ОтветитьI love April Wine 🍷 and ive been following them for about 20 years. They are still a great band even after all these years.
ОтветитьAn absolute MUST SEE! Hope this will be available on DVD. One of our best bands. R.I.P. Myles and much thanks.
ОтветитьApril wine goes Goldwyn TY
ОтветитьI can’t wait to see this documentary in its entirety!
I’m a very late bloomer - in that I only became big fan of April Wine around 2021/2022.
Since then, I’ve explored much of their discography and realized how much awesome song writing and music I’ve been missing out on.
I was crushed to hear about Miles passing last year, just when I was hoping to eventually see him play live.
My deepest condolences to Miles’ family and friends. Miles was a greatly talented man and he will be truly missed by millions of fans. 🙏🏼
Roller, I like to rock, Sign of the gypsy queen, Crash and Burn 🔥🔥🔥🔥still some of my favorites!!!!
ОтветитьThe nature of the beast is my all time favorite album.
ОтветитьI remember I ranked my top 100 bands and artists. And I love April Wine so I had them like in the top 20. And the Beatles in the top 30 and the first thing my best friend said was you rank April Wine higher than the Beatles? lol.
Obviously, the Beatles were better than everybody except for maybe the Rolling Stones. But I just don’t play them as much as I play April Wine. Miles Goodwin never got the respect he deserved as a songwriter and the guitar playing on those albums is just kick ass.
My favourite April Wine is Say Hello. I loved their cover of 21st Century Schizoid Man.
ОтветитьBeautiful documentary ❤❤❤
Ответитьif perseverance were a person, RIP Myles. This is great. Also great to see who wrote what.
ОтветитьNature of the beast has always been one of my favorite albums n I think one of the best albums of all time,no bad songs. RIP myles
ОтветитьI am a 67 year old Gramma. April Wine was my band when I was a mere 16, maybe 15 year old. I spent so many hours with a head set on my ears. My parents were not fans! My favorite album was Electric Jewels. I just felt like it was glossed over a bit. Maybe it my teenage mind it was better. But I still listen to it the most of all April Wine music. With love this is just my opinion.

ОтветитьThis August 31st 2024 APRIL WINE is playing at the CNE BAND SHELL at 8 p.m. in Toronto.
I wonder what the band line up will be, and sound like especially without Myles Goodwyn?
May Myles be Resting in Peace and Love and be ROCKING ON FOREVER!❤🎸
Haven't decided if I will go or not!?
Because the Last time I was blessed enough to see APRIL WINE it was in a Bar venue way back in the day!
Hard to beat that night!
Tempted to go.
Did see a great Doobie Brothers tribute band at the CNE last weekend and you could tell the lead singer wasn't Michael Macdonald if you weren't looking at him!
The band was note for note and superb vocals!
Absolutely blew me away!
So its the 27th today I have a few days to decide!
❤🇨🇦🎸🥁🎉💃🏻♥️
Thank you. Just saw April Wine last night. Great show. Tremendous documentary.
ОтветитьRIP Myles
ОтветитьWow! Such an amazing story.
ОтветитьThat distinctive voice
ОтветитьI don't know anyone that hasn't been positively affected by this band growing up. April Wine will always rock! Never forgotten. God bless Myles and the band.....
ОтветитьSpeechless❤️‼️
Thanks all for the soundtrack of my life!🤗🙏
Very well put together to recount the story of this great band - Nice to see that Jerry apparently made up with Myles in late 2023.
ОтветитьMyles book was one of the better ones I have read. I highly recommend it.
ОтветитьI saw these guys at the 5th golden summernight festival in Wiesbaden, Sept 82. It was a great show and one of the weirdest combos of acts...April Wine, MSG, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Neil Young. Great artists, one and all.
ОтветитьI did not see one happy face on those indigenous children. Our gov't was responsible for crimes against humanity.
ОтветитьApril wine did the texas circuit in around 77 to 78 good show.
ОтветитьMaybe 1980 when they hit corpus christi tx?
ОтветитьOK it was 1981
ОтветитьWhat a voice.
Ответить"Roller" "I like to Rock" "Say Hello" are some of the best straight rock songs ever put out there. I never get tired of listening to this great stuff!!!!
ОтветитьI've seen them in concert since the 70s and wouldn't see them without myles .. he is aprilwine its that simple
ОтветитьAs a Canadian this as the soundtrack of my youth.
Myles had such a great voice. They were on Canadian radio all the time.
What a great documentary on a wonderful rock band.
ОтветитьIt amazed me it took that long to induct AW into the frigging Canadian Music Hall of Fame. We are so bad to each other.
ОтветитьApril Wine will always be a "go to" for me.
Ответитьthanks for doing a great tribute to the music of my youth....never forgotten
ОтветитьGreat great band. These guys were super talented.
ОтветитьGreatest Canadian Band and one of the greatest bands of all time.
☮️🎼🤛
Could’ve been a lady! Good song❤ I loved drop you guns!! I went to there concert in Lethbridge, Alberta with friends. It was awesome!!!. Bad side of the moon. Great too! Tonight is a wonderful night to fall in love!,,my fav! Just between you and me was the best slow dance song in school!
ОтветитьA friend of mine “ Gerald Hartley” auditioned for a part in April Wine but didn’t make it. He was great though❤️🇨🇦😎
❤
Nature of the beast was their best album!
ОтветитьSay hello!, sign of the Gypsy queen, just between you and me! Roller, I loved it too.
ОтветитьFantastic band!!
ОтветитьA wonderfully complete, comprehensive, balanced, objective and completely authentic documentary with not an extra word of commentary or fluff. I was delighted and amazed to see it! Lots of background info and bits and snippets I had not seen or heard before. Spectacular job Steeve! For those of us who grew up with April Wine, followed them and were fortunate enough to befriend them over the years, this documentary brings us closer to the band and their music. I think the band past and present will be keen to see this! 😁♥
