Greetings Eric, in your video you DID NOT specify wether valves are adjusted when the eng is hot or cold. This is for the novice like me.

I'm experiencing a misfire in 1 and 3 that is more pronounced when the engine is cold and less noticeable when I've been down the road a ways. Was told that sort of behavior could be an issue with valve clearance. Thank you for the Video!

Okay, on my #4, left side intake valve, the feeler guage won't go in. It's too tight and won't go down any further. What does this indicate? Thanks

Great video. I have a b18c honda motor im working on. I was changing the belt and installing a aftermarket harmonic balancer on the gearshaft. I didn’t have a problem lining up the cams, however, as i was installing the harmonic balancer, With the belt removed, I believe I may have moved the TDC of the main crankshaft off of its center. I cannot view the marks of the main crank because the aftermarket harmonic balancer now covers it and its far too difficult to remove now. I was planning on putting a stick in the spark plug hole to find dead center as it raises up upon moving the crankshaft, but I was concerned that the valves would be affected, so i removed the cams from its journals to avoid any valves from being bent and now im planning on turning the crankshaft (counter clockwise) measuring TDC of the camshaft in order to get it TDC. Question - Am I correct to assume that it’s important to get my maincrankshaft on TDC ? And if so, am I doing it correctly? Thanks. Any help is appreciated.

Sorry to bother. Will be doing my 99 Honda CRV this week. Do you torque the bolts once adjusted, or just get it consistently snugged on each valve bolt. Nowhere talks about torquing those adjustment bolts. Always enjoying your vids…..thank you from Canada!! 👍

Have you run across over tightened nuts on the adjusters that once the nut is loosened you cannot turn the screw in the nut. so to loosen the nut from the adjusting screw I turned the nut until the screw stopped turning and the nut loosened. However I cannot free the screw from the rocker now. Thoughts?

if the nut is to hard take out the follower and loosen it in a vice . Yes yes and yes you can bend the valve stem trying to loosen it in the head !!!! Take heed !!!

Interesting video. I never heard of this before. I have an 03 envoy, 02 cavelier, 98 maxima 93 vigor, 99 solara. All with now over 300,000 miles and never did a valve adjustment. Should I have my mechanic check them or dont bother with it. I'm having no problems cars are running great.
