CARLOS Correa es idéntico en todo
ОтветитьI used to watch the Great Roberto at Forbes Field. He was also a United States Marine. Roberto Clemente joined the Marine Corps after the 1958 season ended and spent 6 years in the Marine Corps Reserve. Semper Fi Roberto
ОтветитьI grew up in NYC but I knew about Roberto Clemente because not only was he a fellow Puerto Rican, he was one tremendous ballplayer with a cannon for an arm. He threw the javelin in his younger days, which gave him the leverage to throw the way he did. My entire amateur athletic life, I've worn 21 as my number. I idolized him. I was just crushed, heartbroken, and inconsolable for several days when he died. He sacrificed his life bringing relief supplies to the earthquake survivors in Nicaragua. His grossly overloaded, underpowered plane crashed a mile off shore. Funny thing is, they never found his body.
ОтветитьSimply the greatest. Brings so much honor to his people. ❤
ОтветитьWow that’s an arm. I got to Jessie Barfield with the Blue Jays in the 80s and he had a cannon for an arm too
ОтветитьWhen I was a kid, I attended Pirate games in old Forbes Field, as my Mom's family liven in Pittsburgh. I remember Forbes Field being 409' to the iron gate and just huge. No one had an arm like Roberto. One year, the pirates came to Youngstown, Ohio to play an exhibition game. Somehow I was chosen to be batboy for a day. I got to meet all the Pirate players including Roberto. All of those guys treated me like I was family. Bob Skinner gave me a bottle of Coca Cola on the team bus and passed an autograph sheet for me. I'm now 74, but that memory is still alive. Oh, they did not charge me for an autograph.
ОтветитьThe greatest right fielder to ever play the game. Hell, the best to ever play the game period. 21❤
ОтветитьSucks
ОтветитьYes.
Ответитьon that first throw he does everything textbook.
on the first base line there's lumpy grass on both sides of the dirt, Clemente sets the ball down gently so he doesnt handcuff sanguillen.
its a masterclass on power and accuracy, thats 16 seasons of experience
Love watching the old Buccos
ОтветитьAmazing Roberto clemente the great one retire 21
ОтветитьI AM FROM PITTSBURGH CLEMENTE NEVER GOT THE CREDIT THE BIGG NAMES GOT!!! HE HAD THE GREATEST ARM OF ALLLL TIME!!! THROW 395 FEET ON A FLY IMPRESSIVE
ОтветитьHe had a Howitzer of an arm.
ОтветитьClemente played with passion and explosiveness. He was a highlight in every game he played.
ОтветитьReminds me of Ichiro. He will be the next unanimous HOFer.
ОтветитьGreatest RF I have ever seen, at age 71. Please do a video of Johnny Callison, the #2 RF I have ever seen, and his contemporary. If we could bring them back, they’d be surprised that most of today’s MLB outfielders have a job, as most can’t hit the cutoff man or throw accurately. Plus, none has the cannon arm these 2 had!
ОтветитьHe was born to play baseball.
ОтветитьAstro ☄️ Boricua 🇵🇷 in MLB ⚾ Great one Roberto Clemente 🌹 All Natural
ОтветитьROBERTO EL MAGNIFICO
ОтветитьGUNS
ОтветитьThe one announcer mentioned Al Kaline. Yes, Kaline had the best arm in RF in the AL. Clemente, however, was just a step above. I would have been very happy to have either of them in RF on my team.
ОтветитьI don't know if Clemente had the strongest arm ever Dave Parker was pretty close, and so were Reggie and Bo Jackson. And Dave Winfield, too.
But Clemente's combination of arm strength and accuracy of his throws will probably never be topped. In that way, he was a freak of nature.
I was at a game in 1968 against the Giants. Bobby Bonds, who could fly was a first, and Mays was up. He hit a sinking liner to right center that hit right in front of Matty Alou, and the ball skipped under his glove. Clemente was running over to back him up, and retrieved the ball just in front of the warning track....the wall in RCF at Forbes Field was 408'. Bonds took a token turn around third base and didn't even think of trying to score from first on Clemente.
Right around the same time, I was at a game against the Cubs. Bases loaded, none out, Cleo James up pinch hitting for the pitcher. He hit a little looper to right and everybody had to hold to see if the ball was going to be caught. It fell in. Clemente fielded it cleanly on one hop and got the ball to the plate in time to force Randy Hundley trying to score.
Clemente, Brooks Robinson, Pete Rose, Nolan Ryan, inspiration comes from those in a higher League.
ОтветитьI saw him from 1955 until his death. My hero! What a player. Had he played in the tiny parks like Aaron and early Mays, there is no telling what his stats would have been.
ОтветитьJanitor throws Damn.
ОтветитьIf anyone had a stronger arm I don't know who it would be.
ОтветитьThat first one he gets it home and he doesn’t even take a running start.
ОтветитьClemente was a Great outfielder and the Pirates were a playoff team in those days! I believe Roberto Clemente was a big reason they were! He could run, hit for power, play great defense and had a Cannon for an arm! Even though I'm a White Sox fan all my life! I was glad I saw his career and his Championship play! Roberto was Very Very Good for the MLB! He died a Hero!
ОтветитьA HoF great who still seems to me to be underrated, if that's possible. Great player.
ОтветитьClemente had one of the greatest arms ever, among outfielders. Maybe the best ever!
ОтветитьI grew up in Pittsburgh. Saw my first game at Forbes Field. Then I was in the 12th row at Three Rivers for Roberto's final hit. My son wore #21 through his baseball career for him, a player who died 30 years before he was born. As great as people acknowledge he was, he's still one of the most underrated players ever. But more important, a man of conviction and honor.
ОтветитьImagine dirt making dust on a baseball field.
ОтветитьBest right fielding arm and player Ive ever seen...what a canon and his smoothnes was an artform..;
ОтветитьAs a 12 year old, I remember Clemente catching a fly ball on the right field warning track in Forbes Field. The runner on third tagged as the catch was made. I was sitting behind home plate in line with first base and enjoyed this wonderful view of a perfect throw that one hopped into the catcher's glove. It wasn't close. Clemente routinely pulled of plays like this. A really underappreciated superstar.
Ответитьnow do one with Al Kaline
ОтветитьYoung person here never watched him play but my dad and grandfather always ravedddddd about Roberto. Looking at these clips I can only imagine what that arm would look like with the mechanics and techniques of today 🚀 💪🏼 all these are standing still no w momentum nothing. Sheeshhhh. Hell he even patiently waits for the ball to bounce and roll to him lol to still get u out or have u checking the view at base out of fear. Coaches today would be livid if u casually jog and wait for the ball to make its way to u lol. CRAZY ARM
Ответитьi was at three rivers in '72, a game against the Dodgers. guy on second, fly ball to the warning track in right. Clemente catches, the guy tags and runs for third. Roberto throws a strike over third, on the fly, nails him. crowd goes nuts. might have been Steve Yeager on second but i don't remember.
ОтветитьHe was a man among boys.
ОтветитьRoberto was ahead of his time ..
ОтветитьAdd to that 4 batting titles.... that's $4,000 well spent.
ОтветитьEarl Weaver's nightmare - the 1971 and 1979 Pirates.
ОтветитьI met Roberto twice…God don’t makem any better…!!!!!!
ОтветитьClemente is 2nd all time in RF assists.. Harry Hooper is number one with a ridiculous 335. Like Clemente he also committed a lot of errors being the all time leader with 144 (Clemente 3rd with 131). At the other positions Tris Speaker easily has the highest CF total (he was also a teammate of Harry Hooper) and the two best left fielders were Jimmy Sheckard and Zach Wheat. 3rd place in left field was Duffy Lewis who was the third member of the Boston outfield with Speaker and Hooper. So I'm inclined to think there's something about that park or their circumstances that boosted all their totals. In any case all these guys are deadball players except Clemente so maybe yeah he had the best outfield arm.
ОтветитьMy Dad used to take all the sons to Forbes Field in Pittsburgh. I watched Roberto make throws that were amazing. He threw out Willie Mays at first on a single
ОтветитьLove that man!
ОтветитьThere were 2 players in Puerto Rico with an arm like this. The other was Luis 'Peggie' Mercado from Coamo. 😎
ОтветитьBest right fielder ever hands down
ОтветитьThe first rocket arm
Ответить
