Sigh. This gives me chills every time (and there are many times) I listen to him. His version is just so pure and strong - no indulgence is frills or other personal mannerisms, just a powerful voice delivering the song straight. Best version I've heard after looking at many others. Thanks for posting and giving us a chance to comment.

A shame that Britain Got Talent does not put songs on iTunes. I kind of like The Voice for at least posting on iTunes of their contestants for purchase. I would luv Simon blanked out!

The standard on BGT 2013 as far as the singers were concerned was very high indeed.  But in my humble opinion the rendition of this song by Alex was truly a virtuoso performance.  A very emotional song sung with great feeling with that big range of voice he has.  It was truly stunning.

I wish Simon would stop being cynical and realise that looks aren't that important to most of us. His attitude at the start was one of scepticism. Like the majority of us I enjoy music and I listen with my ears not my eyes and this voice is superb. Alex might not be a pin up for teenyboppers but does that matter? His voice is what he is about and I buy music because I like what I hear and enjoy it. visuals are OK on a TV perhaps but aren't much use in a car when you're driving or sitting just relaxing with background.

Where are the LYRICS?

I still listen to this incredible rendition. If Alex had kept quiet, he may have made the finals. Not intentionally, in his interviews he came over as a know-it-all obnoxious show-off. Mr Cowell was never going to be able to manipulate him. It's such a shame as Alex has the most amazing voice and his impact was like Subo, imho. 

I think he entered in the wrong year some how, cos he should have definitely been in the final.  I suppose its really difficult when you have singers and so many others acts, like impressionists, dancers etc.  Its difficult to compare.  I totally disagree with Simon that he's too high and I really felt for him because he really wanted to impress Simon.

Stunning never to be beaten. This man reached every note in the song with masterful precision. Sign him!

I have not heard this sung better, its an astronomical incredible rendition, very powerful and put everything in to it and it shone! Simon was just being simon he liked it all right!
