I honestly don't think Battlefront II is fixed. I prefer games for the story and the Battlefront II campaign sucks and it is made worse when they added DLC to conclude the story. This is a trend I don't want video games to do but like some of the problems in prior installments it foreshadowed EA's launch of BFV where they left out the final campaign for a later update.

The reason they didn't have female assassins in Unity actuall makes sense. Nobody but the player is going to see the cosmetics so why bother making them?

Sea of Thieves may have indirectly led to the rise of sea shanties becoming popular again before January 2021. I remember the Longest Johns streaming the game and singing sea shanties. Oh LORDY, I remember the opening of Battlefront 2 and the damned loot boxes! And of course, Fallout 76.

For the Star Wars Battlefront: you were the CHOSEN ONE! You were menat to destroy the loot boxes, nit join them!

I know this list was made before it came out, but I feel like Sonic Frontiers Final Horizon should get an honorable mention, because the updates literally elvated it from good, to one of the 3d Sonic games ever, at least for me.

The original Frontiers definitely wasn't broken, or even bad. But it definitely had a couple of glaring issues, such as it being too easy, a lack of momentum, and a pretty weak ending, etc. But when the released the second and third updates, they changed everything. You can spindash, you can keep your momentum, more playable characters that we haven't seen since 06 17 years ago. And the big thing was the new ending. It solved literally every problem with the original. It gave an epic final boss, a new super form, and gave us an actual satisfying climactic finish.

It wasn't maybe fixed as well as the ones on this list, but it definitely deserves to be recognized. Especially since all of it was done for FREE.

So let me get this straight. EA, the greediest company in gaming, is ready to release a sequel of a reboot on one of the most beloved star wars games of all time, and decided to take advice from another greedy company (Blizzard hyped up the lootboxes), and took there way to make it nearly impossible to unlock everything, with the amount of time needed to unlock everything at launch being over 4,500 hours. they then let this controversy get so bad, that governments had to change their laws on gambling (specifically Belgium.) Finally, with Dice actually taking initiative over EA, removed the microtransactions, and suppressed the lootboxes almost entirely. For a solid while, things were looking good for BFII, UNTIL EA ENDS SUPPORT, DESPITE ITS PLAYER COUNT WAS AT ITS PEAK!!! Not only that, they ended support to work on 2 other multiplayer games that, looking at it now, are doing worse than BFII. Eventually, Epic puts it on the Epic Games store for free, and it gets 15 MILLION NEW UNITS!!! You think EA with what little braincells they have left would think that "Hmm, maybe ending support was a bad idea, and we should bring it back online." They listened to the first half, posting on twitter that they had made a mistake in ending support, BUT THEY DON'T BRING BACK SUPPORT!!! Later people managed to obtain info on features that were supposed to be in the game. Ahsoka, Padme, and Ventress being playable heroes, with a working Ahsoka being in the games files almost fully completed. Mustafar, Coruscant, and Umbara as maps for online, with Mustafar being a hero showdown only map. An entirely fixed loadout system with a bunch more variety in terms of weapons. But most of these were either scrapped due to issues of authenticity, detailing, or time constraints, or reused in other content. ISB agent reused the face model from Padme (Still upset about that), and the duel wielding model from Ahsoka and Ventress. Then Dennis Brännvall, the head level designer for BFII was asked on a stream "why he left Dice?" and it was because they wouldn't let him do BFIII. WHY!?! I THOUGHT DICE WERE THE GOOD GUYS!!! THERE IS SO MUCH CONTENT NOW THAT COULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE, MANDALORIAN, ANDOR, JEDI FALLEN ORDER/SURVIVOR, SW REBELS, AND A BUNCH OF FAN FAVORITE CHARACTERS STILL YET TO BE ADDED!!! WHEN WILL THEY LEARN!?! (sorry for ranting for about 5 minutes on the crimes EA and in some case, Dice, have committed on this "Should Be" amazing game, but I had to get it off my chest)

I'm not gonna lie... I would watch a movie about the redemption of No Man's Sky. It's got the makings of a great movie, and a genuinely interesting story.

Honestly for the Blizzard entry I would have chosen the original World of Warcraft when it first came out if people wouldn't realize I just meant the original game without the expansions if not for two reasons.
One, NO ONE could have expected how many people were going to buy and play that game. NO ONE. Blizzard had no idea how absolutely chock full of people it would have.
Two... well... most people look on those original couple months as one of the world's greatest game launches of all time due to how World of Warcraft Vanilla got so much attention but also, well, how many people STAYED.

Pleased to see Fallout 76 make this list. Now Fallout 76 is no longer the worst in the series but the most polarizing of opinions.

You know the point you bring up about EA; it's really sad to think about how far they've fallen. They used to be like a mix of gold standard and small company supporter back in the ps2 era. But then the evils of online play with shitty rpg elements that required you to pay to win were added or implemented in some games and they fell into the obsession with digging their grave there.

2024, can report, Battlefront 2 player base is still going strong

Fallout 76 is still a trash game because the Console version REQUIRE Subscription to even play

Diablo 3 is pretty crap and seems to be a bad remake of Diablo 1, but what is Diablo 4?

Boy, NIS must've felt like a "big hole" after that fiasco.

And then NIS fucked up again with Trails into Reverie. Not as bad as Ys 8 but still. You could not pair up certain characters that were not playable in Cold Steel 4 with anyone else, grammar errors, bugs, and it told you the wrong amount of money you got. And I think thats a few of the problems I remember. Localization issues did not get fixed until a year later.
