How much weight can it bear without ripping apart?

I love your video, definitely a 5. I found leaving the yarn in a ball or wrapping it in a figure eight and rubber banding them prevents the tangling issue. Just braid until it's the length you want, cut, knot and you are ready to knot and start again. Somewhere I read recommended lengths for different age groups. I'll post it here if I find it.

First of all - Thank you for the tutorial, my girls are having the best of times with their ropes. Secondly, we found out that the braiding of the long strands is very easy and quick and plonter-free if done concurrently by two people, one at the "head" of the braiding, and one repeating the same actions at the tails, with all strands held with a little tension between them....

I made my first jump rope and the seams from the shirt seem to stick out. How do you take care of that?

I made many of these jump ropes for OCC. Following your tutorial made this so easy and it was fun to do too. Now we are going to be taking a bunch of t-shirts to an orphanage in Mexico and helping the kids make their own jump ropes. Can't wait!

You cut the tee shirt too fast. I began cutting but after cutting around once, how do I move to the next row?

What is over all length for child? I am adapting using fleece scraps!

We're involved with OCC, too. We've been making these, but your way I believe takes an easier route. The only thing I add is stretching the tshirt yarn gets you way more length.
