Is Khabarovsk Worth Getting In Late 2024?

I got Khaba + UU purely on your recommendation. And it's the DD I have the best wr in. 😄 I only got her once I had the RB points to get the UU at the same time, so I never even played her without it. Play like a CL - but without the citadel - and you're golden.

I lived in Khabarovsk. The locals all say Basically HAABARISK, The K is silent. Every time I hear KA Bar isk it makes my skin crawl.

I really enjoy my Khaba and yes, I have the leg mod on it, that extra range does help a lot!! I run the heal on my Khaba, smoke feels like such a waste since it´s so tanky for a DD. Smoke or not, it´s not an easy DD to play because of its high detect range, other DDs will always outspot you.

I also have the Delny and it´s not a bad DD. It also has the Khaba´s armor plating, the detection is better at 7...something, I can´t remember off the top of my head. The guns have a longer range at 15km plus and the torps go out to 10 km. But to get all that, it had to hive up one of the rear turrets that the Khaba has.

I don't have very many games in the Khaba, but I do run legmod. The rudder shift really needs some kind of buff, or maybe even just put the torps out to 8k like the Tashkent. But I will say dmg is not a problem. I'm an average player and my avg dmg is 74k, so pretty strong.

Smoke Khaba plays VERY DIFFERENTLY - it was surprisingly close to how I play an aggressive Shima (yes, I am one of the few who love to use Shima guns and go on par with Hallands and Gearings with maneuvering and reload use). You go in carefully, use terrain to push in when needed and have concealment as well.

And when you open up, you go, play with speed (even boost), but you also have the option of just breaking a line of sight whenever needed when kiting and use that smoke really offensively. It basically gives you a "portable farming island" when needed. It also can be well combined with holding a flank, because angry smokescreen is hard to push into, especially when armed with quite a few torps - 6km is plenty in this regard.

PQ is more a cruiser and BB player, not too big of a DD one. So that makes the difference maybe :)

You should play Molotov in todays game I have been having a lot of fun in lower tier games lately and a premium t6 that has ridiculous guns is too much fun and there is basically no recent gameplay on here to showcase it

I've been a huge khaba fan and when the delny came out I had high hopes. The delny is such a sad boat, it barely feels like a tier 10

No, the Khaba is not worth wasting coal to own. If WG ever gives the ship back a rudder that doesn't requires both Rudder Mods and maybe 8km torps then it might be worth the cost. The Khaba was a holy terror back when it was put into the game. But the Khaba got nerf'd into the sea floor, only to watch french destroyers introduced that do all the things the Khaba but better. The Khaba armor is great when fighting destroyers but any ship with larger caliber guns and the ability to aim at the Khaba which can't maneuver because of the rudder nerf, will slap you harder then Will vs. Chris.

I have the Khaba and I will only run the Khaba with the legendary upgrade. It makes the ship formidable against other gun boats other than the Ragnar. plus the reload is really nice

Just slot prop mod, this thing still accelerates like crazy, rudder mod is dog shit, don't even try turning, you get plenty of dodge just from the speed juking

Khaba is criminaly underrated. I spent a few seasons going up against Klebers and railing even top Hurricane and Typhoon teams with ease.

yeah back in the day when the secondary range off bbs was not so good and cruisers were in a very bad state and no dd wanted to fight a khaba. So they nerfed this ship. But since the us cruiser split cruisers are in a much better state. So i think they could unnerf it

its a veteran ship !i was able to get it before coal and 14 km shots are great cause i love my haida/kidd ! dds with short arcs is a drean boat

Rule 1 of Khabarovsk: don't use double rudder mod. It has so much horsepower you only need acceleration jukes.
And legendary mod is trash, should never use it unless you take smoke.

Delny also has worse armor.

I would really like to see a comparison/ranking on ALL DD's: Tech-tree, Armory, Steel, Research Bureau.

I swear PQ got as many fires within 100 hits as I get in an entire game with the Khaba. Also, I played a couple games and tried to take note every time I'd shatter HE with the belt. There must be some wrong way I'm playing it because it almost never came into effect against HE but instead kept arming AP and chunking me. I used to be a Khaba main but I am convinced both the meta and the Player base have adapted to facing this ship. Modern gun boats wait for you to get close where your shell arks don't count and gun you down with better DPM, torp DDs get almost 2.5km where you're spotted for their team and they can mostly run away or torp, and having to choose between range and rudder is absurd when there are so many either very accurate or large volume of fire BBs around.
