Building from concept art has been a game changer for me!
This is such a great video.
holy shit you are annoying are retarded
ОтветитьThis is incredibly helpful. I’ve watched so many how-to video on building techniques, but this approach is sooooo powerful. And the delivery was on point.
ОтветитьThank you for breaking it down like that. I have been wanting to stop copying builds, but just didn't know what the next step is and how to use references. It was too overwhelming. Now I might actually try.
Ответитьso is a part 2 coming out anytime or what?
ОтветитьNothing can beat the oak plank cube design for your base. Truly the greatest design oat
Ответитьwhat i really struggle with is filling the blanks that i have with an image, sometimes i find a reference but cant replicate other sides of a house or structure as it isnt seen on the reference. do you have any tips on ways to help fill those gaps? i really enjoyed this video like its actually such a huge help making it into grids and getting creative with the blocks, thank uuu
ОтветитьYou gotta be careful about the ai stuff, i read your disclamer.
If u want human art of simmilar style, some artist i can recommend are alariko,
Imperial child,
And Yoshida Seiji,
They all make illustrations and enviorments in a simmilair style that u are trying to get at.
So definitely make sure to seek out non ai generated references, its quite disheartening when both images you use as references dont seem to be human made.
block vomit!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьStill waiting for episode 2
Ответитьgreat video!
ОтветитьIncredibly useful video! I’m waiting for part two
ОтветитьBuild like an architect
TOPDOWN BIRDS EYE VIEW:
Bro actually copied the image using a website doing all the work for him and called it "Tip to improve ur buildings"
ОтветитьWaiting for Ep. 2
Pls make a Episode 2!!!
“Build like an artist”
Uses AI images as a reference
Lmao ok
Any eta on ep:2?
Ответитьthis is why i am such a big advocate for build tutorials! when i was younger i was teased for copying tutorials and now people are shocked when i tell them that i learned to be a good builder by watching and building tutorials. its not shameful, and its not lame.
ОтветитьYes building like an artist is key !😊 I was thinking this
ОтветитьThis stuff is what the internet should be made for. Someone who actually has to say something useful and does so in an understandable way.
Great build and great teaching, thank you.
this is the best video everrrr omg. I am so excited for the rest of this!!!!
ОтветитьHow do you get these images ? Is it just claled house concept house?
ОтветитьUse the hanging signes for the ladder
Ответитьplease upload next episode!!
ОтветитьUsing concept art for reference has been such an amazing change to my building. I've improved more in the last 1.5 years than the 12/13 year before that. Not through concept art alone ofcourse, but a game changer forsure!
ОтветитьI hope this channel aint dead.
ОтветитьI'm an artist who recently started playing minecraft and my problem is placing the blocks 🥲 I always miscalculate and then the windows are uneven, the next floor is too short or too long etc 😭
ОтветитьCan't wait for the next one, this was the best building tutorial I've ever seen. And to top it off, my favorite Minecrafter put his seal of approval in the comments, shut up and take my viewership 😭🫶
Ответитьhi, just coming to say tysm. I have yet to find a videos that teach you how to approach designing as opposed to teaching...the mechanics (?) of designing certain shapes in minecraft. cant wait to try your techniques out tn.
Ответить"/gamerule dodaylightcycle false" to freeze time. Nice video!
ОтветитьVery insightful video. Well done!
ОтветитьGreat video! I've been using concept arts for my buildings and while most things I was already familiar with, I got to atleast try that grid thing!
On a side note, I would have probably brought out the greenish texture to the build by transitioning from the white to stone and using mossy cobblestone for the green parts. The wall is also a bit greyish in the reference picture in some points.
What kind of style is that i like it
Ответитьthis is an lesson about creativity itself, honestly.
Ответитьim a minecraft player and an artist (or so i tell myself), and ive gotten a lot better at building from reference thanks to this. :)
ОтветитьLittle sister is very cute😊
ОтветитьPlease don't use ai images as reference. It's a watered down mess of actual art.
ОтветитьI NEED MORE!!!! This was so helpful, and you are a great teacher! Please continue the series :D
ОтветитьTip: if your reference is about interior, preplan building, if your reference is exterior wing it.
Another tip: do the front and back first, then do the sides
mfw the reference is AI slop
ОтветитьThank you thank you thank youuu for this video! I have been wanting to get better at building and have watched many videos on tips and such but nothing comes close to what you have done here! you have helped me understand things so much more clear and I am genuinely excited to start trying out these tips. ♥
ОтветитьVery well done. Thank you.
ОтветитьI used these ideas to become a good MC builder. One mistake I made in the beginning, starting too big. Start with smaller builds, like a house vs a castle. The bigger ones felt so daunting. I mark out my plot first, just in dirt, to get the proportions correct. I use torches to count blocks, so I get the numbers correct, then add dirt. Then build up, in a basic block I’m going to use in the build. Then I texture before I add details. Details are last and take me about twice as long as building the build. Don’t be afraid to try adding wild stuff, that you think will look weird. You can always take it down if it doesn’t work. By the way the first build I did was a more modern house, with balconies and glass overlooking the sea. That came out great, even looking back on it. Then I wanted a barn next to it, nothing huge. I ended up building 6 different barns before I found one that worked. Even though I was sooo frustrated by this point, I kept going. Those mistake barns taught me a lot, looking back on it.
ОтветитьNew sub here! I am a bit late to the party but I wanted to thank you for this inspirational video. I'll be using these tips on my own let's play videos.
Ответитьthe front of the building looks good but what abt the rest
ОтветитьIf you copy a Bdubs build its called a Master study.
ОтветитьAmazing tips!
ОтветитьI’ve been looking for a tutorial like this thank you 🙌
ОтветитьI draw all the time and somehow I never thought of using references for my builds until it was mentioned in this and now it seems like the most obvious thing in the world. I just went and casually made my best build yet and I'm genuinely excited to build more. Love this video
Ответитьwas interested in the vid and instantly clicked off when u showed AI art as "concept art" in a video about art and creating things, when 5 mins ago u say copying a build isnt "yours"...hypocritical and disgusting
Ответить
