Fender Player VS Squier Affinity - Stratocaster Tone Comparison

Liked both, but slightly preferred the player.

Please make a comparison between vintage v6 reissued and squier classic vibe. i read everywhere that vintage blows squier away.

I own a Squier Contemporary HSS Strat and a Fender Player HSS Strat. The Fender sounds so much better but I like the 12" radius of the Squier. (Why can't Google learn to spell Squier?)

I think the difference in tone was negligible. The real deal would be in playability and tuning stability.

i like the brightness and the overtones of the squier more than the low end of the player.

I think A is Affinity and B is Player, I like B more

I guessed correctly. The player sounds like real distortion, whereas the Affinity sounds like it's just extra distorted from poor pickups.

Too bad the neck of the Affinity is only 40mm wide.

I have both of them I say save for a used player.

I ordered my first guitar yesterday, the affinity. Today I see this vid and I'm very happy. I don't know about in person but in this video the affinity definitely sounded better to me.

I think the Affinity was slightly better sounding.

Squire sounds ‘fuller’ to me with clean sound. Welp, this video saved me a thousand bucks.

Affinity for me

Great guitars. Great action. Great tone. Plays just like a Fender. Just put a strip of duct tape over "Squier" and write "Findur". If the elitists can't handle the humor you know you've won. And you saved hundreds of dollars. It is not the guitar, it is the guitarist.

Affinity has big ceramic bar magnets and 500k pots, they are actually quite good, even handling distortion well. there is nothing wrong with them, they just get a bad rep because they're not true to Fender vintage spec AlNiCo. enjoy the hell out of it. its not hard to swap parts out either.

Great Gilmore tones in the intro. Was in my local G.C. other day. They had an Affinity Strat and I like it. The finish and tuners are better than years ago. Thinking to get one soon 🎸👍

Much preferred strat B, Yea, it's the Affinity!...(I've got an Affinity, 2004, black, modded with scalloped neck, mint triple ply scratchplate, various aging to parts, and roller string trees). I Play it more than my MIM strat!

Awesome demo! I’m going to get an Affinity model in Olympic white. Perfect fit for my surf band!

I preferred guitar A slightly, but I think a change to my favorite strings would make B sound better to me. I have an Affinity bass, and after I did a complete setup and fixed up the frets a little plus some great strings, I absolutely love it and it sounds as good to me as almost anything that exists. Maybe someday I'll spend a couple hundred dollars on pickups and I'll like them, maybe not.

In my case, if I notice a lot of difference in sound, the Squier always sounds bad to me.

As someone considering buying the first Fender in my life, I am starting to reconsider when hearing how Squiers sound. The Squier was much better in this face-off, for my liking.
