Discover the ideas and influences behind Sarah Taylor Silverwood's 'Daphne', in a lunchtime conversation with Aspex Curator Vickie Fear

Birmingham based artist Sarah Taylor Silverwood invites us into her studio for a lunchtime conversation with Vickie Fear, Curator/Programme Manager at Aspex. Connecting through a Zoom video chat Sarah and Vickie will discuss the ideas and influences behind Sarah's current exhibition in the Main Space at Aspex, Daphne, as well as some of her previous projects and wider practice, incorporating drawing, animation, print and ceramics.

Sarah Taylor Silverwood is interested in drawing and language and their shared histories. Recent solo projects include Crowd Show at NN Contemporary, the Multistory 2018 commission and residencies at The British Consulate in Chicago and The University of Birmingham. In 2018 she was awarded the Feeney Fellowship for work in animation. She is part of Modern Clay Co-op and Feminists Work for Change.

Daphne was commissioned by The New Art Gallery Walsall in 2019 and is delivered by Aspex in partnership with PONToon, an EU Interreg France (Channel) England funded project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
