SNAAAAKE! | Metal Gear Solid - Ep.4 | First Playthrough [Master Collection]

It’s odd, never had a problem with the torture in the PAL PS1 version but for years heard ppl say it was hell, so I have to assume the NTSC version (which is prob the default on the master collection) is much harder in that regard, maybe due to the higher frame rate. When I eventually get a copy I’ll find out I guess.

Same for Resident Evil 4 QTEs, always see Americans say they were hard but it didn’t feel so in the Euro version which had many balance changes for item drops and combat already

Something I like to do for funsies on the Stairway of Doom is use stun grenades but then plant claymores for the suckers chasing you up. Metal Gear truly is something special, Hideo Kojima is a real genius of video game design. Watching Whimsy play this is quite special, and I can't wait to watch her play the sequels - especially Snake Eater.

The mines on the staircase was definitely refreshing to see and lives up to the the "Tactical Espionage Action" in the subtitle of the game, a lot of people just do it guns blazing first time.
Especially considering that's your first time, respect!

Why didn't you refill your health between zaps? If you had tapped the button you would have refilled your health.

Out of all the times I played this game, only 1 time did I give in to the torture. And that was to see the second ending and get the optical camouflage. I still regret that.

Man, back in the day I was spoiled that if we submit in the torture Meryl dies. That was enough for me to turbo irl the circle button to avoid her dying. + She found the camera way too late, I mean it's the last oportunity to get it though, she missed out on the ghosts wondering in the base. Fatal frame reference.

Thats Karma. When Meryl took that gaurds clothes she had literally no reason for taking his underwear. She already had her underwear. What an absolute psychopath. Also it was pretty goddamn lucky that their clothing and shoe size were a match.

The trick with the torture is to keep bashing circle ⭕ even after the time is up it's gives you more health

actually in the torture room submitting or not changes the end if u can endure all the torture it will end with the canon and good ending by saving meryl
If not well if u submit u will face a bromance ending with otacon (lol was mindblown when I found it out)

I had NO idea there were whole Codec calls with Snake being sick (absolutely cute by the way) ! Thank you for playing the game the way it was meant to be played, I really love the way your brain works as well. Makes for an amazing playthrough. But, when you're talking about Meryl, did you forget what Ocelot said would happen if you submitted ? "I will have my fun with her, then I will kill her', so I'm not sure why you were saying "we will save her" at this point (and that's ok, I didn't manage to pass the torture scene ether when I was a teen).
