I have a few Patsy's, vintage Ginny's and my Mom's "Mama Doll" from her childhood, which I treasure. I also collect vinyl dolls among which is my own childhood doll, "Thumbelina", which I received for my 12th Christmas gift. I greatly enjoyed visiting your beautiful doll room and hearing the stories behind a few of your darlings.

Cheri, I love your doll collection and your narrative was excellent! I have a few dolls from my childhood which have barely survived moving and haircuts, though the one I really loved was taken out of our storage by my uncle and given to his daughter. This baby doll is one I've looked for many years. My sis and I had the Toni perms also, and I think I must have one of the dolls! Though sis and I love dolls, my daughter and her daughter never really did, which has been a big disappointment for me! I also loved laundry and ironing (no more) and I still have my toy electric iron and a small collection of old irons, some of which I use for quilting. Interestingly, I understand that the black dolls were not popular with black children as they preferred the white ones. Whether that was true or their families could not afford the dolls, or both is still a question. Thank you for showing us your dolls. I could spend hours looking at each one in detail.

Terri Lee and Poor Pitifull Pearl are my favorite dolls. I'm not a collector but I find dolls appealing.

I loved this video and so many things about it:
1. Ms. Cheri's tasteful but artsy outfit and jewelry
2. Display and decor. I love the different props. And they are spaced out so each one can be appreciated
3. Love that her husband gave her a dedicated doll room but said keep them all in there 😅 I got to take over the smallest bedroom in our house as a wardrobe and just recently began collecting fashion dolls...running out of room for my clothes, purses, accessories and dolls.

Shirley Temple had a collection of her dolls that were dressed in the costumes she wore in her movies. When there was spare fabric, the wardrobe designers would fashion these outfits.
Somewhere is a video showcasing this collection.
They are shown alongside mannequins in full-sized costumes and photographs of Shirley wearing the outfits.
They are fascinating, and in perfect condition.
