For another great game with a giant eye that follows your cursor around the menu, check out Signalis. I was almost certain that's what you were thinking of, but the dates don't line up. Maybe you were thinking of Mario 64?
ОтветитьYou know, knowing that other people out there enjoy video game soundtracks like I do brings me a bit of joy.
ОтветитьMario's eyes followed your pointer at the start of Mario 64 I believe.
Ответитьahh shit i thought this was the dolphin game
anyway this looked so promising and good
but that ending my god what a waste of a game
i know its hard to write a satisfying ending but this was horseshite
Dissenting opinion here. I thought this game was moving and overall fantastic
ОтветитьI keep coming back to this video instead of playing the game myself, because I'm waaay to scared to do it. This, and the mechanics are so stressful, they make me completely unmotivated to try, since I won't just be scared, I'll be also very uncomfortable, because the game doesn't give the player any space what so ever. From the looks of it, even the walking dialogue segments feel absurdly lonely and creepy, so to me, they're almost scarier than the doppelgangers and the petrifyingly unnatural scale of the architecture, which would paralyze me if I appeared in such a place. I'm so anxious about playing the game, because it really hits these eerie feelings that come with huge, kind of empty and gravely suspicious spaces, but at the same time I wish I'd hear all the dialogue and piece together what is to observe for myself. I don't think I have ever found something in any media, which scares me as deeply as this games' atmosphere and levels. I know the Dead Space games aren't that scary for many people, but even for my timid imagination and sensitivity to many kinds of horror, Echo makes that trilogy feel like an everyday monster shooter, and kind of braces me to finish the first game and play the sequel. I like how Ross kind of omitted these aspects here, because it probably doesn't move him as much, but that in turn made me think more in the background, about how this game looks to me overall, and I'm kind of jealous I just cannot ignore how much I'm creeped out by everything in it. I saw this video when it was published, instantly bought the game, and only have made it to the menu and these things live rent free in my mind ever since...
ОтветитьHellraiser puzzle box is just a doorway, the stealing of souls is done by the Cenobites.
ОтветитьEverytime I come back to this video, the comments have so many ideas about how to better handle this game.
Which I think says something, actually I think it says a few things, just one is that this game wasn't bad by itself but it handled its main portion absolutely poorly and even simple changes could have fixed it.
It feels like Ross misunderstood how he was meant to play the game, went through the whole game like that, and then thought the game sucked. Not that the game isn't at fault for failing to teach him, but still; he is literally going into a game with a huge focus on stealth, running around openly in front of all the enemies, and then complaining that there's constantly enemies chasing him around.
Ответитьi've always thought anti-aliasing was a bad thing. it tanks your framerate and it's a cheap trick that usually doesn't even make things look better.
ОтветитьMy favorite cube is the menu cube from Chronicles of Riddick
ОтветитьI wonder how many of us realized that this was a backroom game
ОтветитьThis game freaked me out because I had a nightmare almost exactly like it a year before. Giant building, as I walked I would create clones of myself behind me. Each one was frozen still but they all had a crazy look directed right at me, and I knew I something bad would happen if I touched one of them. So I ran around the giant building looking for a way out, leaving behind more clones and knowing that I would eventually run out of room and be forced to touch one.
ОтветитьThis game concept could be a lot better if the character actually had fun abilities for the clones to copy. There could have been sprinting, double jumping, and wall-running but you'd have to be careful to only do that in the dark (with limited visibility) or else the clones start doing all that stuff too and then you have a fun chase sequence where you're dodging the clones who are doing crazy parkhour while trying to kill you.
The environmental design is great and the setting/story is interesting, but the game just doesn't look fun to actually play.
I hear about games being “cinematic,” but this game actually feels like it would be better as an art house sci fi movie. People would still hate it and complain about the plot, but it would be better.
ОтветитьSuper Mario 64 followed the pointer around the screen, but was not as zoomed in on Mario's head as this eye.
ОтветитьThankfully DLSS/DLAA has gotten pretty good, and people have found ways to manually hook it into games. That and I've had a pretty good track record using DSR even on some "newer" titles.
But yeah, when you get that SGSSAA working in DX9, it just hits different 🥴
I can't imagine a reason that the clones don't shut down or freeze up during blackouts. There are tons of questionable gameplay loop decisions that just don't add up. If they learn for the next power cycle why don't they also unlearn as it resets their body and respawn?
ОтветитьTried 6 time to finish the game but everytime it creep me out. I've played my share of horor game but this one, it managed to scare me while having a pedent british guy/ai talking to me all along.
Game look good, envoronement is interesting, music...... was there any music ? Can't remember, gameplay is responsive and dificulty isn't skyrocketing in my arse. Good game, but creep me out
Signalis does the eye menu thing
ОтветитьThey obviously had more "talking" than they did "travel distance." Instead of making the level bigger, they slowed your movement by 80% or whatever. That's clearly what they did.
ОтветитьLinkin' Park sucks ass
Ответитьi think i'd enjoy this palace as an exploration game / maze without the annoying respawns.
i absolutely adore the look of the palace
Slowing the player down in Crisis Core FFVII worked well, but that's very much in context.
this palace is a creepy place, what does that say about your mind!? haha
ОтветитьI mean, with LLMs like ChatGPT and modern speech synthesizers you could make this London AI today, so it's not that weird that he doesn't "sound like" an AI.
ОтветитьAi god says humans don't have souls, they're like animals and just rot
ОтветитьDamn that game looks great, how have I never heard or seen anything of it before.
ОтветитьGreat world, but they really did forget to fix the story.
Ответитьyou talk like you are constatly complaining
ОтветитьWhy is the eye at the start looking at a mirrored menu screen?
ОтветитьWatching this again reminds me a bit of the anime short film Magnetic Rose from the Memories anthology. Weird palace in space and all
Ответитьa warhammer situation 😂
ОтветитьWow, this game's story is so forgettable that I forgot I watched this video all the way through years ago.
Ответитьyknow there is N the flash platforming game. i think that was the character's name.
ОтветитьThis game gave me a "tech demo with a story peppered in" vibe when I initially played it. Needless to say, despite the beauty of the art, I shut it off and never looked back.
ОтветитьOh a note, there is a noise when night is about to turn into day. Kill the echos then, they will not respawn ever again if killed during that. Also DO NOT EAT DURING DAY, it allows them to jog.
ОтветитьYeah them running faster then you during the day is because you ate. eating increases your speed but it also increases theirs.
Ответить
