Ответитьmalta and laos the two most heavily bombed areas
ОтветитьMalta. Just another failure of Macho dictator Mussolini..
ОтветитьIt would be so cool to do a historic tour of Libya. Too bad geopolitics in the current era make it dangerous. But I guess it's always been that way, Barbary Pirates and all...
ОтветитьExcellent, if summary, documentary.
ОтветитьI went to Malta as a child for a vacation one August in the early 90's. As we stepped off the plane, onto that rock, the heat was 40 degrees celcius (almost a record we were told) and I hated it. The bus journey to the hotel was insane, even with every window open. The next day at the beach, I fell asleep for 20 minutes in a small boat and woke up with heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Spent the next 2 days and nights in bed, vomitting, blisters covering my back, unable to sleep but watching the sun come up every morning through the window. I hated it. After I'd recovered, I refused to leave the hotel. Luckily I found they had a video arcade in the basement, so every day my Dad gave me 10 maltese pounds for drinks and credits, and I spent the entire last week playing Golden Axe and Hang On.
ОтветитьWhat a beautiful place. I studied abroad in Malta and stood on the Azure Window just a few years before it collapsesd. 🙃
ОтветитьSorry about your luck
Ответитьlot of talk about Greece when this is supposed to be about Malta - History Hits continues to be garbage !
ОтветитьGuten Morgen.
ОтветитьGuten Morgen. Er gab etwas Zucker in die Soße, um den starken Tomaten-/Gewürzgeschmack aufzulockern. Ein weißer Kragen unterbrach leicht das Schwarz, das ihr Outfit dominierte.
ОтветитьAn informative and wonderful historical coverage documentary about stubborn, furious remaining of military and naval forces of British empire & imperial commonwealth on Mediterranean sea and northern Africa shorelines...thank you 🙏( history Hit) page and (war stories ) channel for sharing
ОтветитьLest we forget!! May all the gods bless the Allied Forces!! We will remember!!
ОтветитьGreat Love to Malta from an Ozzie half cousin in Australia!! We will remember you!!
Ответитьeye-ties shure had a poor navy ...
ОтветитьExcellent insightful and fascinating - great narrative.
ОтветитьI did not know the RN suffered so many losses in the Med.
ОтветитьMore ferocious than the American bombing of Nagasaki or Hiroshima or the fire bombing of Hamburg and Dresden? I think not.
My second gf was from Malta --- so a soft spot for Malta.
So you are saying a metal detector would be overwhelmed. Rest in peace all you greatest generation.
Ответить👍👍👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьPoor Italian. They were defeated everywhere.
Ответитьa bit of advice mate, dont show Mountbatten and call him Keith Park,
Ответить72% destroyed by Malta before reaching Africa and surrendered ...lol.
ОтветитьExcellent video.
Germany made a huge blunder by not supporting Op Herkules. Had they done so right after taking Crete, or in March '42 when the Malta Hurricanes were eliminated, things would have gone differently in North Africa. Their partners (French & Italy) were not helpful either.
Thanks Great 👍 Video
ОтветитьUnimaginable what that generation endured. ❤
ОтветитьThe bombing of Gaza was 70,000 tonnes of bombs by Israel.
