The case for having large social events regularly at public libraries --- Many intelligent, interesting people seek settings for social interaction, but are not interested in commonly available options such as bars and sporting events. The Public Library can provide interesting social options for people who want to interact with others on the basis of ideas, and conversation that is about ideas (by talking about books, movies, lyrics, Ted Talks, or any other manner in which ideas are represented).
