There is an alternative to George's great idea and that is the actions of the Golgafrinchans, in the context of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," are a race that is revealed to be the true ancestors of Earth humans, not apes. They are also associated with the planet, Golgafrincham... a story about impending doom on their planet that led to their population being drastically reduced the purpose was to get rid of the useless population on large spaceships that where pre-programmed to then crash into planet earth...🤔... A possibility for the future I would say.

Regarding the ploicing issue, I was burgled in a Hotel in Bournemouth, wallet nicked. I went to the police station and the lovely constable that took a statement did not know the word 'Mezzanine' what it meant or how to spell it. I caught the burgler by going round the shops and asking for CCTV of when the scrote used my card and GAVE this footage to the Police. He was taken to Court (Again) and let off with a rap on the knuckles. Says it all about our Judiciary
