Blessings and Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
My mom, grandma, grndpa and my other grandma and grandpa passed and i didnt get to learn the recipe. Thanks for posting 😢 ❤ im making it this year for me and my sister for us to celebrate together
ОтветитьI am thoroughly enjoying this. My fav scent is sage at the holidays. Reminds me of the best memories of my childhood.
ОтветитьI think we had green onions and boiled eggs in ours? Does that sound normal? I think i am going to add it to the one im making this year
ОтветитьMy father n law has a molasses mill and does it the very way you’re talking about. I have videos It’s something most young folks never have saw this type Of thing. 😊
ОтветитьMartha White with hot rise is the absolute best. My mother and grandmother never used anything else.
ОтветитьWhat a treasure you are, MeMe. ❤ I wish had a MeMe growing up. I LOVE your amazing Hobo Cornbread recipe; I make it just about every week, and I add it to traditional dressing and as topping for a chicken casserole. It adds so much to regular dressing!! It's delicious added to buttermilk too. Happy Thanksgiving, precious family.
ОтветитьYour dressing is exactly like my mama made. I remember after Thanksgiving dinner going out and watching my grandpa make cane syrup. And he also had a mule to turn the stones! This was in south Mississippi.
ОтветитьVery close to my favorite dressing recipe. I am glad you have a hint of sage. Too much isn't good but I love a hint of it. I add cream of Chicken soup to mine in addition to the chicken broth. There is a recipe that was from a slave Lady who made great Dressing in the deep south, Fannie Pressley. It was a most requested recipe in Southern Living Magazine decades ago. It's very siimilar to ours Meme. Have a great Thanksgiving and all of your family and friends enjoy the Holidays!
ОтветитьYou make the best cornbread dressing! It reminds me of my mothers.
ОтветитьI enjoy your videos .i make my dressing like your recipe. Thank you for sharing your faith thru cooking .God bless 😊😊😊❤❤
ОтветитьI love your childhood memories ❤, You should write a book on how you lived during those times! I would love to read about it! I just enjoy the stories behind the meals❤❤❤
ОтветитьThe dressing looked yummy! Ms Meme you blessed my soul. You are a lovely person and the person behind the camera has an infectious laugh. God bless y’all!!😍🙏🏾 I’m a new subscriber.
ОтветитьBottom rack? To keep it from drying...?
ОтветитьI noticed you didnt saute your onion and celery...just straight in ... obviously it cooks fine tho ...ive seen it done both ways now ❤
ОтветитьHappy Thanksgiving to you and your family! Shine for Jesus🙏🏾
ОтветитьHappy Thanksgiving beautiful Lady! Yes ti making it soupy and a big yes to poultry seasoning! I hate green dressing caused by a tin of sage !
ОтветитьWhat precious memories of Thanksgivings past. I enjoy your channel so very much! You remind me so much of my sweet grandmother that has gone to be with the Lord many years ago. Oh how I miss her! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
ОтветитьI can’t wait to try this for Thanksgiving with my family. It looks pretty tasty. Thank you for sharing your recipe!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family
ОтветитьAmen i be right over dear
ОтветитьLuv it.cornbread
ОтветитьMy grandmother on my mama’s side made the best dressing. Not just at Thanksgiving but at family reunions also. At the reunions people would come up to the tables and ask for hers specifically, “where’s Gladys’ dressing?”
ОтветитьGoing to try this out! If I just wanted to make one casserole dish would I just half everything ingredient wise and do half of the cornbread recipe on back of corn mill bag?
ОтветитьI love you so much you are a wonderful person 8love all your videos pray for Brenda kirby I just had open heart surgery and I have a value closing scare going to the doctor Dec 9 pray it will be OK love you
ОтветитьWhere's the bread crumbs or crackers for texture?
ОтветитьSho got a happy, giggly camera person!
ОтветитьI use my mama's recipe, although she didn't go by a recipe. She used Pepperidge farms herb dressing mix and their cornbread mix. She added celery, onions and bell pepper, boiled eggs, chopped hen and lots of broth from the hen. It was so good!
I've been to many cane grindings. They are so very fun. They had "dog candy" that comes off before syrup completely makes.
I love the way you tell stories and I love your videos. Keep blessing us, MeMe!
💯
ОтветитьOh I love your Mimi!!! Reminds me of my sweet mama!! My mama told the ole time stories as well! I miss her and. all her stories!! Give her a big hug for me. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Jesus is king!! ❤🙏
ОтветитьI use the broth from the turkey for my dressing and it’s so moist and delicious!!I am a mee mee too by the way and a new subscriber!❤ your dressing looks delicious and love your closing remarks to shine for Jesus!! Amen!!!🙏
ОтветитьYes, sweet sister…..SHINE FOR JESUS!! This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it SHINE ✨. Thank YOU, GOD, for sending JESUS. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
ОтветитьJust ordered your cook book for Sundays darlin
ОтветитьI just love Meme
ОтветитьI bought exactly what I need to make this for Thanksgiving, can’t wait to try it. I also wanted to mention that I love hearing stories of times past. My daddy would tell us all sorts of neat things, like loading the furnace with coal, skimming the cream off the top of the milk to have heavy cream, and of course walking to and back from school, uphill both ways, lol, stuff like that. I could listen to those stories for hours. We lost him a little over two years ago, so this video made me a tad sad, but a little happy too. Thank you for the great tutorial.
ОтветитьI’ve never done it this way but boy I’m sure going to this year! Blessings
ОтветитьIs she using the spatula backward 😊. That's so sweet.
ОтветитьSuch sweet hands. Reminds me of my mama.
ОтветитьMy people's don't like celery, onion, or sage. I use all of that and a pinch of cayenne and for people that are just so picky they eat every bite.
ОтветитьSo great!! ❤❤
Ответитьthat giggling woman is ANNOYING
Ответить❤️❤️❤️HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
ОтветитьMy momma would use half cornbread half stale white bread. And sometimes she'd even hard boil a few eggs then slice them up and mix into the dressing mixture. I've never seen anyone else do that. She was from NE ARKANSAS. So maybe that was just something she learned from her momma. The spices she used were pretty much the same. It's still my favorite dressing.
ОтветитьI add sweet sausage apples and walnuts to mine yummmmmmm
ОтветитьI found a recipe online for corn masa, corn meal, and flour cornbread..I made it, great corn flavor! And refrigerated it until I made my half whole wheat, half cornbread Sweet and Hot Italian sausages dressing, then I cut the cornbread into large cubes (don’t like the crumbled cornbread) and retoasted it on a cookie sheet so the cornbread wouldn’t turn to dust and was gentle in the mixing. I forgot to add eggs, but aside from being a little loose and separated the dressing was awesome..I also did all the typical stuff (sautéed onion, butter, shallot, butter, celery, did I say butter?parsley, sage dried and fresh) to it plus dried cranberries.
ОтветитьI have been trying for years to figure out how to get cornbread dressing to turn out like this. It's always come out dry. I watched this video, followed your directions & BAM! The cornbread dressing I've been looking for forever!! Thank you so much!!
ОтветитьHope you and your family had an Blessed Thanksgiving 🦃❤️🍁🍂. We enjoy your video’s
ОтветитьThanks for sharing this. We made it for our Thanksgiving dinner today and it was a hit! Everyone loved it.
ОтветитьWhat a sweet little lady.. bet everything she brings from her kitchen is a winner. She obviously has been coached in the video world of today. She was told to use Y’ALL as much as she can.. so much that it sounds forced.. NOT NEEDED. Her noticeable genuine southern accent proves her southern upbringing. Besides there is already an obnoxious woman from Savannah over using Y’ALL. Try talking to the camera as if it were one person. It will still sound southern with the accent. Can’t wait to try your recipe
ОтветитьIn my opinion sautéed veggie add so much more flavor than the raw…and homemade poultry stock is also better flavor
ОтветитьI love hexclad, we have it
Ответить
