good vid
Ответитьthx for the xplanation about caster and how to check it
Ответитьgood vid mate , but why mount the sniper on the high portion of the stub , won't that throw out your camber readings ?
ОтветитьIf the kart is on the ground (with the driver in) the toe and camber settings wil be totally different, mostly more negative, because the chassis will bend under weight.
You first have to determine how much this will increase and then compensate these values by putting more positive toe & camber on the sniper readings, once the kart is on the stand.
Thanks Derek, can you tuck that watch band into its tab, it is killing my OCD.
ОтветитьGood job in tutoring,u.s.a
Ответитьhow would you measure caster with only a sniper
Ответитьthat ruler and magnet trick was handy
ОтветитьThese vids are awesome, i just bought a complete front handbrake system for £500, this will be useful as its a front hub replacement involved.
ОтветитьI may not have thought this through correctly but wouldn't that paper 'trick' only work if the kart was already setup completely neutral (or at least perfectly symmetrically)? I find making sure that the steering is dead straight before starting to be the hardest part... P.S. all your videos are excellent and informative :-)
ОтветитьI have a new Tonykart 401R that is about +1mm off on the camber angle in one side, My local shop said that was completely normal from the factory, but is there something we can do to get 110%? Bent it back in some way(All steering parts have been checked and are good) Thx for some nice videoes :)
ОтветитьExcellent Video as always!!! Quick questions...1) When you align the baubles to be in the middle, that is always in "default" setting (no caster, no camber)? or every time that you are adding camber and caster you need to keep adjusting the baubles to stay in the middle? 2)if the caster is off by 2mm, that means that my chassis is bent? Thank you again!
ОтветитьI can tell this is an old vid, youve improved alot as a presenter since.
ОтветитьHi!! Thanks for the great videos! Have come across something strange on my kids kart: bought it slightly used (one race weekend) and the left side had an after market tie rod which was 5mm shorter than the right (original one is 240 on a crg mini hero). Left hand side got a small hit during practice so I decided to buy new tie rods. When buying the two new ones and replacing them on both sides, the right side was perfectly aligned while the left side was off and couldn't reach neutral position before maxing out on the nuts. When putting In the old 235mm tie rod again, it worked. Have any idea where the misalignment is (spindels, steering column etc)? Using steering wheel bracket to center the steering wheel so nothing is moving while adjusting. 🤷🏽♂️
ОтветитьThank you very much
