The lone wolf strategy is acutally countered by genetics. On the long run an isolated tribe will be in trouble. Thats backed by certain examples - groups in history.
Thats where genetic engineering could deliver a solution, but - this approach could probably lead to similar results..

The worst person to have in your group is someone who is self-interested.
People who are pre-occupied with wealth, power, or profit.
Their loyalty is conditional. and definitely not guaranteed.

I think of those people who can't hold down a job for very long because they can't stand being "told what to do". People like that would be dead weight for a collectivist group, or pegged as an enemy to the warlord and his militia.

Well, I don't have any friends or family....and I don't really fit in in my new neighborhood. I'm one of those weird child-free, atheist homesteaders, if any others even exist. I rarely see other humans, and I wouldn't even begin to know how to make friends with my type of neighbors. Maybe we could bond over guns. Also....it's a good thing I'm a genetic dead end. No kid wants to inherit Epidermolysis Bullosa or Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. 😂

The only friends i have are family.

I would only have people I have lived with for long periods of time and have proven themelves with me, remember every extra person apart from you is an unpredictable factor in your survival.

Im kind of lone wolf.I dont trust people much,and there is reason for that.Last time i trusted somebody i ended up with narsicist that got me emotianally of balance.Thanks Lord i got out of that relationship and got my peace back.I was prepping, but he wanted that i trow my prep away. Much better be lone wolf with faith, than with wrong people.But even lone wolf need higher purpose than just surviving himself.But that purpose can be helping animals. Or just planting some trees. And i could even help some people if i got enough resourses, but i would still prefer to stay alone.

LONE-WOLF is not "stupid" nor contrary to survivalism, if you believe in Biblical end-time prophecies. The Bible is clear that at some point in the future there will be a 7 year count-down; with forced compliance to a global currency and if taken you cannot enter Heaven. Moreover hiding (lone-wolf'ism) at that time, is actually taught by Jesus (Matt 24;24-26). Ergō, in this scenario there is no point to rebuilding, since all will melt in fervent heat (2 Peter 3;10). The future of humanity is finite.

The thing about "the universe" is that it won't know you existed regardless of whether you are alone or leading a group to rebuild civilization. "The universe" doesn't know anything. However, God knows everything and will always be aware of your existence, even if you are a complete loner surviving on your own in the woods for 30 years.

Times have not been good for me since 2007. The big banks destroyed my good times. Since then, i have been shot down on three occasions in trying to build trust. I’m done with that. Everybody is duplicitous until proven trustworthy from now on.

If you dont have a trustworthy tribe before shtf and are a loner, so you are jot even training to read body language, non verbal communication etc. You are really effed hardcore when you are in shtf and you need help of any kind, because you don't have trustworthy people you may be forced to die or trust strangers without the ability to evaluate them properly because you choose to be a loner long before everything when down. "Power" is a euphemism for "Violence". When you say that, "there's a need for some Centralized Power", you're suggesting that certain people should use violence to impose their preferences upon the rest. I'm never going to agree with that.

Maybe that first sentence is there for nothing more than being provocative but it comes across as so horribly judgmental and is full of assumptions. You don't know why someone's going it alone. Maybe they choose to because they love it, maybe they choose not to because they don't. Maybe they have no choice. There are a myriad of reasons for a person to want to survive. Its not just predicated by the belief that your specific genes are going to be more beneficial to the survival of humanity, that's not always the case😅

A lot of people dont actually know what to do but think they do and think they are in charge especially with all the brainwashing going on with this new generation.
