this is nice... im really sucks at strategy and usually stick with normal frontline melee and back range units and if they go clash with my melee units i go flank them with range from the side kinda
ОтветитьI miss fall of the samurai. The current total war games are so crap.
ОтветитьВеликолепное видео. Большое спасибо.
ОтветитьThis was really informative. Awesome Stuff!
ОтветитьHow do you get the gunpowder units to place between the melee units, when you drag them out (in the checkerboard formation)? When I try, the ranged units gets placed behind the melee automatically.
ОтветитьUse Tanks as melee units, they are tough enough to fight pretty much anything that isn't a giant sized unit. Archers and Crossbowmen can fire above units unlike gunpowders so they can be set up at the very rear of the formations to fire above the gun lines and infantry lines.
ОтветитьChevrons plus good skirmish unit usage is very strong.
Outriders to wear down strong infantry or outriders with grenade launchers to cleanup crew
Good stuff.
ОтветитьSuch a great damn video.
ОтветитьFOR THE EMPIIIIIIIRE
Ответитьthese are literally game changes for me thank you
ОтветитьTheres no one gunpowder formation, its terrain-dependant
ОтветитьBtw you may know this already but I've found an easier way to create a checkerboard formation, you just need to align the unit cards in the way that you want your line to look, and then simply select them from left to right, by holding shift when you click on the first left most unit, that will spread out the line EXACTLY how you lined them up on the cards.
If you select all the units in a different order then it will line them up differently.
Love it. Thanks
ОтветитьDude this these combos with nurgle are NUTS no one is breaking my frontline ANYTIME soon. and with the chaos dwarf rifles muwha good stuff. you can get 3 with the new chief mechanic and then another 4 rifles through pacts. 7 chaos dwarf rifles with plaugebearers guarding them ;) get whooped game. If you could get this much with Kugath as the siege? good lord. So happy i have been a dedicated nurlge main since launch.
ОтветитьI'm giving a like simply for the chevron formation! Genius!
ОтветитьI like making my checker board infantry tall instead of square so that the enemy wraps around their tips and surrounds them so that your gunners have more targets to shoot
Ответитьidk why you habe the cinema view active when u do a formation video, but it makes no sense for that. i want to see the banner, i cant see shit with that view active
ОтветитьOne formation I find useful is \______/ with ranged units on the ends and charge out melee units as a whole line once\if they get close to gunners. Then march the gunners out and fire at the flanks of the enemy as they are already engaged with your front line. Then prioritize low morale, routing units and then units returning from routs.
ОтветитьI use a U shape with gunners at the bottom and melee infantry at the sides. When the enemy units close in, I move my melee units in to attack them from the sides and my ranged units can still fire into their flanks the whole time.
Ответитьvery helpful thankyou
ОтветитьJust wanted to quickly say that the really fun part is that the first two are actually historical formations. Chevrons were less common, but checkerboards dominated warfare for about 1000 years, accounting for a gap between swiss pike tactics and the Romans.
ОтветитьWhen I do the CTRL click thing all my ranged units just go to the back naturally, how can I stop this?
ОтветитьThx
ОтветитьBY SIGMAR YES
ОтветитьThis is excellent! Thank you! Do you think you could also do a version of this that specifically labels each section of the formations so it’s easier to figure out where to put your units?
Ответитьdoes this also work for the chaos darfs?
Ответить👍
Ответитьnice man thanks
ОтветитьConvergent evolution: I discovered the checkerboard formation through some experimentation. Ranged units seem to be able to fire through *themselves*, so my checkerboard style uses wide Melee formations and narrow Ranged. Now if only we could teach these musketeers how to use sport stilts!
ОтветитьYour hangunners getting fucked by the hell storm at 3 mins is funny
Ответитьyou know what? I think this might actually be a comment.
gonna like and subscribe too
Unfortunately this doesn't work against humans only AI, against humans black powder units are fairly useless unfortunately unless you have a hill of the right shape you can use.
ОтветитьHey, first of all, thank you for your great video. However, one question remains unanswered. I saw with you, in the checkerboard formation part, that you were able to set up ranged units with melee units on the same height. This doesn't seem to work for me and ranged units line up either in front of or behind the melee units. I'm talking about the placement phase.
ОтветитьIsn't this just a copy of that imgur thread
Ответитьwhat i do to fix the checkerboard formation do what the romans did checkerboard for meele and then add the gun at the middle
ОтветитьEvery time I selected the melee and and missile units, they end up making two rows instead of just making one. How can I fix this
ОтветитьWell I guess this beats my line everyone up and see what happens 😂
ОтветитьI’m new to grand strategy games and I love warhammer so I really appreciate your advice
ОтветитьJust got the game this week. Thanks!
ОтветитьSkavens approve this video, thanks for the tactics RATATATATATTATATAT
ОтветитьSo cool, thank you! Maybe I won't auto-resolve everything, one day
ОтветитьAnd just like that I know you can set a formation and alt click to move the formation. Thank you
ОтветитьNapoleonic tactics in a nutshell. While by that time there was no longer melee/ranged distinction in infantry, the principles are the same.
Infantry in lines cover more ground and are in less danger from artillery, but thin lines are volunerable to cavalry charges.
Infantry in squares/blocks - exactly the other way around.
This was helpful thanks
ОтветитьOh this is lovely! I tried the chevrons and checkerboard as vampire coast and they work wonderfully. Thank you!
ОтветитьI would like a little clarification on the anti-cav diamond. Am I to place a melee chevron towards the enemy, then two inverse chevrons with gunpowder in the middle and then another outward facing melee chevron towards the back? I couldn’t really understand if the melee were facing front and back or left and right.
ОтветитьI'm not quite done with the Prologue yet, but I hadn't even thought about the fact that of course rifles don't shoot their missiles in an arc like archers do xD I appreciate the many little ways in which the game(s) choose to make things work logically/believably; there's a level of depth to combat I hadn't expected. Interesting video. I'll have to give these formations a try.
