They don´t play songs from the Brain era no more.
Herb has maybe the techique but not the feeling and groove Brain had.

Which is the reason why I got mee-self 2 tickets to witness the spectacle known as P R I M U S... June in Long Beach , CA ... I haven't been to a Primus show since 97-98 ? Snuck in to see Les Claypool and his frog mask play a show in New Orleans right before Katrina hit in spring/summer of 2005... He is a bizarre performer when masked... Kinda evil cartoonish look he had that night. no Acid please hahaha...

That kalamazoo guitar solo was spot on yet different from the studio. Really really good job

I was at the Calder Spanier benefit show at Bimbos with Spearhead. Wild show. Michael Franti kept trying to move like Les does. That was a bit silly to see, but entertaining. I was at the new years 97 show as well. Very high on acid and whip its were blasting too. Deftones opened the show and were very dark. As I peaked I realized I was dead but accepted it because Primus was playing for us all in hell. That was when Brain did a solo while drinking an entire 40 ounces to the dome then breaking it with a stick.
One of my luckiest live music moments was seeing Primus perform at the bottom of the hill In SF under the name “Brown”
A band called Beanpole opened up. This must have been in 97 as well. Maybe earlier. Me and my bro Cody and I grew up in Napa. The pirate radio dude who ran a vw shop announced the show on the day of the show. He never spoke on air except for that time, I believe. I think he knew Les and the boys. Needless to say, seeing Primus at their height in a tiny ass club with maybe one hundred people was quite an experience. Thanks Les!
