I work with my son in his special needs class, unfortunately because recent changes at the school I worry I have to home school. This is my last option.
ОтветитьGood to know. Thank You
ОтветитьDoes this applies to now 2021
ОтветитьThank you for the insight !
ОтветитьHi, how much me( single parent) and I have 3 children family maximum benefits will be? I got 1271 per month now. Thank you
ОтветитьMy daughter is non verbal and can't pay attention...would she qualify for ssi
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video!
ОтветитьTHANK YOU
ОтветитьNot helpful
ОтветитьAre you talking about SSDI or SSI?
ОтветитьMy daughter is nonverbal. She is unable to communicate at all. She just learned to walk at 2 and a half almost 3 years old. She can not be left alone for more than a minute. She eats everything and chews on literally everything. I can not hold a job because no daycares will watch her because of the fact that she needs so much care during the day and night. I really think kids with this level of autism should be on SSI. Just like any other person or child that has any other type of disability.
ОтветитьOH I knew there had to be some reasons not to do this. I have an appt in a week for SSI on my daughter but the last thing i want is to ruin her future with this.
ОтветитьThanks for the information. My granddaughter has been diagnosed with non- verbal autism.
ОтветитьWhat can parents (beneficiary) use their child's SSI for once they get it?
ОтветитьMy son is slightly autistic he can improve over time. However I need to be a SAHM because my career would have a huge toll on my time that I wouldn’t spend time with my kids. I feel like I shouldn’t need SSI for that long. Only when my son gets into elementary school. Right now he’s barely getting any services because of insurance issues and not enough teachers. Idk what to start first
ОтветитьWell I don't think that's a big deal if they can't get back on once they have a full time job especially if they are really capable of working with no issues
ОтветитьThank you for that info!!!!!! Very helpful!!!!!!!
ОтветитьThank you 🙏🏽 good thing I didn’t follow through when they offered it!!!! I wouldn’t want that for my child…. He have a lot of years to go to have a turn around!!!
ОтветитьThanks for this my son is 14 and just getting his diagnosis. I do work full time as well and get medical assistance for all 3 of us including my daughter. I didn’t think about how it may put us of the income scale for medical benefits
ОтветитьThanks you for this information
Ответитьlater on get can get a federal job using schedule "A".
ОтветитьI was denied for my income any suggestions?
ОтветитьMy child got denied because I own a home I rent out. 😢
ОтветитьMy daughter is Autistic, suffers from Epilepsy and ADHD. I waited until she is now 12. I have tried applying, and I still haven't heard anything back. I'm a single parent who works and goes to school full time. I need it it's very expensive to have a person who is medically trained and also skilled in homeschooling her as well as help socialize her in other programs, and then there are the medical bills. I had to quit my 15 year career in law enforcement after gaining full custody of her just so I can be here for her. I am now in medical school to learn more about how I can get her to her full potential as well as this will be my new career upon graduation. The system is too slow and sometimes offers help to the wrong people.
ОтветитьWe applied for our 5 year old autistic son a few years ago but was denied because we owned two cars. Old cars at that, one worth $8k and another worth $5k at the time🤷🏽♀️
ОтветитьGreat points!!!
ОтветитьI know this was 6 years ago so I don't know if you'll see this. I planned to get this and my son is 4 years but I didn't know it can have this effect as an adult. We are currently running from "dad" and living in a shelter and we do need it but I'll explore being his PCA and other things before doing this. Thank you for this video.
ОтветитьSince covid, took 2 years for them to deny me.
ОтветитьUntil you tell them ur wife makes $5 more than limit.
ОтветитьI got denied Social Security disability, after acquiring footdrop from spine trauma. They just told me to switch careers and go find something else to do. So I can only imagine how difficult it is to get assistance if you are slightly autistic. It’s gotta be rough.
ОтветитьThe young adult can do volunteer work and see it they can handle it. No point in sacrificing almost 20 years of SS income. come on now.
ОтветитьSo helpful
ОтветитьI have a nonverbal, autistic 6 year old son. I attempted to get a disability benefit for him but was told that my income was too high. So, I went another route for his benefit later. I opened up a custodial brokerage account for him(3 years ago). I intended to deposit his full amount of disability benefits each month in to his brokerage account had he qualified. That way later in life he would not have to worry about income.
ОтветитьThe good thing is they can work full time and the federal government not need to know.
ОтветитьThe way things are going u can’t count on what programs are around 20 yrs from now
ОтветитьI was told to apply now because it hard to apply when their older?
ОтветитьIf you have a child who qualifies for SSI when they turn 18 they must go through recertification process as an ADULT and most will NOT qualify then anyway. So just know parent what they don’t tell you and what she’s not saying is 8 times out of ten your child will lose SSI at 18. If they can be a greeter at Walmart then they don’t qualify
ОтветитьMy son was diagnosed with autism at two years old, and my youngest daughter was diagnosed with syngap 1. It has been over a year and a half since I applied for SSI for my son and we barely got approved last month and we are still waiting to receive the backpay and monthly benefits so in reality it takes anywhere from one to two years to receive the benefits.
ОтветитьFor many of these children, the question has literally never been ‘should you get’ but ‘could you even get it?’
ОтветитьMy daughter with Down syndrome has zero benefits ..
ОтветитьI am a 71 y o who adopted my grandchild who is on SS disability and will turn 16 soon. I would like for him to work part time in the summer for experience. I do need his SS income for our home budget. Will working part time affect his SS amount?
ОтветитьIs the parent Restricted from working because of the daughter on social security.
ОтветитьNow my son is 18 coverages have changed?
ОтветитьI live in Virginia and my son is autistic we get Medicaid but I am about to start working full time will he lose his benefits
ОтветитьWe just got approved for my sons disability. In the letter I received there was a long list of rules about what it can and can’t be used for. it seems I can’t use it to supplement the income. I’ve lost having to stay home with him. Is there any chance you can make a video to clear that up?
ОтветитьI had never considered that getting off, would make it harder to get back on. I have an adult family member who is autistic and has a seizure disorder. She does work part-time but has disability payments to cover necessary medication (the part-time job does not have such insurance, and switching to full-time, would still involve a probationary period without insurance unless it's out-of-pocket, which she cannot afford). The medicines are necessary for her to stay alive. She is in a trap. At age 40, she cannot afford to live on her own. She has managed to live with another family member and buy a used car, which is amazing, but it has been hard. She has to track work hours carefully, so she doesn't go over the limit and disqualify herself for benefits, risking her life. My wish is that businesses and insurance companies would support people with serious conditions, who really want to be productive in society, but still need support to live. I would like to see insurance plans offered more for part-time work, or other supports like that.
ОтветитьBoth of my children have disabilities, I'm a single mom & they won't give me ssid for them
ОтветитьThansk
