So many comments ignore the fact that any contact sport will evolve & change. And guess what you might not like that! Also, the game is changing in part because of past players from the “hard nut, real footy” days are now suing the AFL in class actions due to their long term issues.
ОтветитьTo all those so bloody upset, stop watching AFL - it clearly is no longer the game for you!! Simple really …. It’s not changing back because of your screaming 😂😂
ОтветитьThey need to get the MRO to start doing real time and accurate reenactments of these situations so the lawyers that have never played a single game of any contact sport can show us how they would have responded to a situation like this…… and Gary shh mate , soft as 🧈
ОтветитьPathetic, may as well shut the game down now. Unfortunate clashes do occur. Never a suspension whatsoever. The game is run by clowns. He obviously plays for the wrong club. Bunch of hypocrites run this business.
ОтветитьFree Kick Archer
ОтветитьThe AFL is a joke. No more to be said
ОтветитьTo hit a pack at that speed with people going for a ground-ball is beyond reckless. I know it's popular to complain about these incidents and say the game's gone soft. But this could have ended someone's life. He did not need to hit that pack at that speed, simple.
Ответитьthis is an absolute farce and players/fans/coaches should go on strike or something
'we dont see this instances often, because PLAYERS TAKE MORE CARE THAN THIS????''
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL what a joke
omg i cant fucking take this, what is this nonsense from garry lyon.
suggesting that a player needs to slow down from 10 metres away ROFL, man if they aren't going full tilt they won't even make it to the contest??????????
you are basically asking the player to give up on the contest from 10 metres out, he has to come to that decision.
This all comes back to the AFL pooping there pants over the future CTE lawsuits
ОтветитьI do see why he got suspended but three weeks is harsh. What most fans want is fairness when it comes to suspensions for example if a player like Daicos did something like this it should be three weeks automatically but if Daicos went to the tribunal he would get let off and defended by everyone
ОтветитьThis suspension is an absolute joke. AFL, what are you doing?!?
Ответитьwe will have touch football within 10 years. we will mourn the loss of the game.
ОтветитьDouble lucky day she smiled at me and said good morning. Good morning. Triple lucky day we got to be in same group project. Group project
ОтветитьChristians policy is if anyone gets hurt regardless of the circumstances, the opponent will be suspended. Would not be surprised if friendly fire causing an injury soon results in the team mate being suspended. Being a former player who despised contact of any kind kind of explains his thought process. Glenn Archer might be a better choice as a MRO & return footy to how it used to be.
ОтветитьThe AFL are so scared and completely afraid of former players coming back to sue them, well done 👍👍
ОтветитьOf course fox - in the afl pockets agree with it. Talk about spinning a yarn and talking in circles. Bevo said last night he should get off 😂
ОтветитьPeter Jess destroyed AFL football. This game will never return to its greatness.
ОтветитьBS
ОтветитьThis is all about the optics of Happy Meal sales folks. The AFL is no longer a sporting organisation, it's an advertising corporation with a sporting promotional billboard.
ОтветитьThis is why I've all but stopped watching footy. The whole discussion in this clip is absolute nonsense, it's rolling over and accepting this destruction of the game that has got us to this point.
ОтветитьMorons
ОтветитьThis is absolutely ridiculous
ОтветитьThe Bulldogs player took out Archers legs isnt that a freekick to Archer? What if Archers leg was broken? would he still be suspended?
ОтветитьTHIS IS ABSOLUTELY F*CKED
ОтветитьTheyve killed the game.. what a complete disgrace!
ОтветитьShouldve been a freekick to Archer.
ОтветитьNo not asking allot actually asking too much it was not reasonable to expect him to go to ground that's ridiculous
ОтветитьWtf that was a complete accident its not like the bloke kicked him in the head, poor bloke didnt get the opportunity to tackle him the other person fell into his knee far out.
ОтветитьGame is being changed for the womens comp, should be different rules for women's game or they shouldn't be playing at all stick to netball and get a boyfriend not a girlfriend
Ответитьlooks like we gotta get used to this - it's all about the AFL & Clubs covering their ar$e from future Brain injury lawsuits from players & their families. Any inconsistency in applications of the rules & regs of the game will be tolerated and accepted with the long view focus about concussions and brain injuries. Start teaching players the fend off, and not to charge in to bump or contest a ball, instead to wait for the oppo to grab it & then tackle them..... this is where we are heading.
ОтветитьGary's a flog!
ОтветитьIt's become like insurance companies assessment of a car accident and why does going to ground have no blame? He could have soccered the ball towards the boundary and kept in play to create a second contest.
ОтветитьParanoia about possible future legal consequences in regards to head injury by the player concussed.
ОтветитьGerard really needs to embrace going bald instead of clinging on to the little hair he has left.
ОтветитьWhat an absolute joke. The AFL is officially done.
ОтветитьPut a woman in charge, nothing makes sense anymore, what did you expect?
ОтветитьMichael Christian must resign immediately
ОтветитьIm a lawyer and this is ridiculous. This is not a court case. This is AFL. It doesnt follow the same common law rules.
ОтветитьThe way the game is made players will always have hard head bangs. BECAUSE YOU MUST BEND OVER to get the bloody ball!!!!
ОтветитьWhat about the bulldogs player’s duty of care to not go into a contest head first… poor decision..
also, if Scrimshaw’s contact was the hardest possible grade, the AFL is soft..
To me it looks like both contributed to the collision. An unfortunate incident but this is a contact sport and it will happen from time to time. Bevo's response was of true concern for his player and also to Archer.
ОтветитьAll the of these cases are legal issues rather than football issues. The AFL is scared of being sued by players suggesting from concussion injuries.
ОтветитьShut up Gary. You’re contributing to the downfall of AFL if you’re not standing up for this bs.
ОтветитьAustralian Soccer League?
ОтветитьGarry Lyon is hopeless !
Bring back Robbo !
The tribunal and suspension are not needed in the modern world of sports. I've been banging on about this for years
ОтветитьAFL is dead. We have a new sport now. In 10 years time they will remove tackling people to the ground.
Hopefully some entrepreneurs create an Aussie Rules Classic league for people that like the legacy game.
So, what the AFL expects from players is safety first when contesting a ball. I can see soon that if 2 players are attacking a ball contest, they will both stop and say, "After you mate", "No way, you go first mate". AFL is a joke now and getting more unwatchable.
ОтветитьWhat a joke. Free kick to Archer
