Halo 5 did have good combat and did some things better than even Infinite but i agree Infinite is like seriously the perfect gameplay for Halo imo.

I totally understand being skeptical but it really is a whole ass new studio pretty much and the guy that got running the studio already has some community respect for helping save Mcc. Ill judge them based on anything they do going forward.

the old engine was still looking and feeling good in halo infinite. they probably would have learned much more about the engine if they had made 3x full separate games instead of just adding some content to one life service game that only a small community is still playing after 1 year.. UE is a solid choice for realistical graphics, even though I think no one asked for better graphics after halo infinite. we will see about local coop and gameplay/story in the next one. a halo1 remake without local coop would be a joke ;)

I don't trust Microsoft or 343 (or whatever they feel like rebranding as) after promises they've broken time and time again with Halo and I know I'm not alone. That's a bad spot to be in for a developer who, let's be honest, has shown incredible difficulty getting good hype around a good game since 343's inception.

If you stopped playing Halo after Reach you are lucky. Halo 5 was the turd in the punch bowl

Maybe Halo studios could do what Sony are doing and remaster a previous Halo as a training exercise. They could try and recapture some of the old game play whilst gaining experience with the unreal engine.

Of course halo will always be strong always love halo from the beginning … I enjoy all of the halo games ODST and evolve stick out for me… but the originals are very good to great enemy that’s the only problem with the later ones is the enemy visually they kept getting better and better… I enjoyed the worked 343 has put in. To many negative people gave them hell they should be a shamed of themselves when people get really personal to the team…

Look forward to the future of halo hopefully halo wars 3 for me in the last year spent 2500 hours playing halo wars 2 great game not quiet as good as StarCraft but very good 🎉🎉

I think Xbox people need to get out of that mindset that Microsoft/Xbox wants to be viewed as competing with other console makers. I honestly don't think they ever officially called or considered Sony, Nintendo etc to be competitors. We have to remember that Microsoft in general has always wanted their flagship products and devices everywhere running everything and on everything. I think that they will continue to release some sort of console until they get GamePass and/or can stream to all popular consoles and devices. It's not about competition just because some little kids want to see multi million billion dollar companies beefin. That literally doesn't make cents.

Halo honestly hasn’t been halo since halo reach. It’s been a decade since a great halo game. Infinite is decent now but lost so many players and should honestly be in a much better state

-- What I wish to see is this refined studio using talent to build more stories again... not remastered stories, because thanks to M.C.C. we have all of those in 4K now. Only remake I would accept would be Halo CE for them to practice and learn how to make Halo in Unreal. The stories don't have to be about 117 either. ODST was great. I do want those new stories though.

With online multiplayer bringing in so much money and multiplayer games expected to be multiple years strong in the online service, I don't think it's wrong putting the multiplayer part of halo on every plattform that can play it to reach as many people as possible... The single player campaign tho, this needs to stay on Xbox/windows (preferably just Xbox) to sell more xboxes

If Halo went muliplat, it’ll be the death of Xbox. The Xbox fanbase will lose faith in the company 100%. Halo on other consoles is like Mario on PlayStation or Xbox. A signal that its game over.

I don’t think anyone currently employed at Microsoft/343/“Halo Studios” with authority even knows what makes Halo, Halo.

Chapter 1 is Bungie, Chapter 2 is 343, Chapter 3 shouldn't be new, but an unapologetic return to Chapter 1 throughout. We don't MORE attempts to change the formula, we've got two decades of Halo statistics proving why changing it, killed it. Stop changing. Drop the ego, "Halo Studios", can we have an actual Halo game release? You know, based on the formula that was so big it was the face of New York during H2's release?

While it’s exciting they’re moving to UE5, this is NOT going to fix their workflow and production issues. You said it yourself “they rely heavily on contractor work”. They just need to stop firing their damn employees and Hire real full time employees. They could have made Slipstream work, but they kept hiring contractors and losing time, effort, money, knowledge each time they let a contract expire.

It doesn’t matter that UE5 is an industry standard. This whole contractor work for a game that takes 5+ years for development WILL FAIL.

Well is visually impressive enough by todays standard? I would say art style, visual identity and gameplay are more important than ever.
In previous generatons a bad game could sorta survive by just looking realistic, but now there are a trillion games that just look realistic or visually impressive but this doesn't mean that they look interesting to play.

I could tell that hurt, having to admit that it's a steeping stone to 'Fortnite'... I never owned a Halo, but I'd play multi-player with friends any chance I got. My friend would bring over his 360 with the optical audio port, I'd switch my surround sound to it, it was incredible. Hearing every footstep, especially in water, and having the spartan laser shake the entire house, it was amazing
