i think it was suspicious HOW natural gus was being here.

an actual innocent person wouldeve been much more scared, anxious, maybe negative/hostile, and they DEFINITELY wouldeve asked for an attorney.

“I’m sure if you keep digging you’ll find me”

I always took that line as “if you keep digging into this you’re going to find the real me, and if you find the real me you’re going to end up dead”.

This scene is so epic. Having such an incredibly solid alibi like this knowing that it's all BS with acting chops up the ying yang is so satisfying.

it's so maddening to think that, in real life, giancarlo esposito was so broke that he willingly took out life insurance on himself to end it all and then gets cast in breaking bad as gus fring.

I will say that for as much as Better Call Saul had done incredibly well in furthering character storylines and backstories, I do miss the warmer shades of Gus, and even Mike.

Not to say they're gone necessarily, I just feel like you don't see their other sides so much as their 'crook sides' as much as you did in Breaking Bad.

Part of it's the actors getting older, part of it’s the increasing feeling of tragedy in the storylines, but either which way, I do miss it.

Probably the most suspicious thing here is him not lawyering up - a legit owner of several franchise chain restaurants would absolutely have a lawyer present if the police and DEA randomly asked for a chat because of the possibility that they would spring an investigation that could damage his business and try to get him to admit something about his labour practices or supply chain that gets him fined into the ground.
