Drybell Vibe Machine, demo by Pete Thorn

Very few Vibe pedals do that "double-throb" thing. Most are just one throb, the Drybell does a kind of heartbeat "lub-dub" throb.
The Digitech Ventura I use almost nails that, but when compared with this beauty..well. 'Nuff said.

Hey-o, Pete! I play 7- and 8-string guitars (Jazzy/Ambient/Rock influences)...how does the low-end fare?? Any loss, or does it stay true to EQ (ie, my low B and F# strings wouldn't thin out)? And, would you advise placing it first / pre-fuzz, in front of amp, no effects loop; or in the loop? :)

Have you used this pedal in your pedalboards? Haven't watched all your pedalboard videos yet. This is the best vibe i've heard besides an original univibe for sure. Plus your demo quality is real nice. Thanks for turning me onto this.

I grabbed one of these when they first appeared. It sounds great and the small size is just a bonus! I must A/B it with the Provibe in my Captain Coconut 2 some time...

Pete you could make whole albums composing melodies while demonstrating the use of various effects pedals textures. Like a trip aroung the world of melody showcasing the electronic artists products who create these awesome pedals.  Oh - that I always ending up buying.

Great review, just one thing to point out, the earliest versions of the vibe machine can only use a dedicated expression pedal from Mission, check Dry Bell's website for exac info..So be careful if buying a second hand one!

Seems like a neat pedal.

I have a voodoo lab microvibe I like.  The drybell sounds just as good.  I like stereo leslie simulating pedals a bit better because of a gain switch.  The vibes try to simulate the leslie with phase shifting.  The leslie simulator I have uses the expression pedal as well.  

Black Hole Sun is in the related videos section on the right of my screen, haha. Appropriate.

I've had mine for a couple of yeas now and can confirm that this is a great piece of kit - nice for that big Hendrix swoosh and even better for just a little bit of subtle movement - adds a ton of mojo and texture to solos.

Hey Pete, your string tree is not there, on the headstock. Have you altered the tuners or just taken them off?
