Nice clipping..
ОтветитьGreat 🎵
ОтветитьHi! i got one, but i have a question, is the level of the strings lower than organ or bass? Thank you.
ОтветитьNice, sweet, cool.... vintage hardware who love experimental electronica
ОтветитьI got this synth in the studio! :D ^^
ОтветитьThis is a secret weapon.
ОтветитьOh. I need this. Hoping Ebay sells this kinds. lol
ОтветитьIt was new old stock. I sold that RS-505 shortly after making that video, but I got another a couple of years ago. It's in good shape, but not mint like the one in the video.
Ответитьyes easy. I dont know why these guys have it at max
ОтветитьThe DIM D is two delay lines. One for each side with some cross sync of the two channels. The effect in the RS-505 is 4 delay lines! mono in stereo out - and further: The Dim D is made to be mixed very low - The 505's quad chorus is a brick wall of 4 chorus lines. Not the same at all
ОтветитьGreat sounding 70's Roland keyboard and the quality of the build is so high that it will last for ever.. Great quad chorus too.. With external input -Dim D go home..
Ответитьis it possible to turn the release down on these ensemble synths? because I love the sound of the Vibrato at the end but I was just wondering if you could turn the release time down so when you let go the sound stops for e.g. Cheers, Phil
Ответить@jordanpassmore My 2008 vidoes were shot with a JVC HD7 which has a stereo mic input. I had to bump the line level down with a mixer, but either I didn't bump it don enough or the camera's auto-compensate messed with the levels. Most of my 2009 & 2010 videos were shot with my old Sony VX-2000 which has a stereo mini jack input with selectable gain (mic/line). I sold the 505 shortly after making this video, but I've since acquired another (and a 101) and might make a new video - so stay tuned!
Ответитьthats remember me to the old video games good
ОтветитьI've heard both the the ensemble effect IS and ISN'T the same as the SDD-320. Anyhow, with RS-505's selling for over $1200 and SDD-320's selling for under $800, it's hardly half the price.
Ответитьawesome especially with the chords played at 1:48
ОтветитьI sold it to Analog US for $1400. They now have it on eBay for $3500. I'd like another, but I won't pay more than $600 for one.
ОтветитьThat's a shame you sold it, it makes a lovely warm sound that you can only get on these analogue machines. How much did it sell for, if you don't mind my asking?
ОтветитьAccording to VintageSynth (dot) com, this keyboard was made in 1978. THe ensemble effect is awesome, I wish I hadn't sold this 'board.
ОтветитьI love that Ensemble II sound. What year is this synth from?
ОтветитьThe string sounds are great, nice demo. Thanks!
ОтветитьNo, there is no CV/Gate in - that is usally only found on monophonic synths (some polys have it to control a single voice). It does have both trigger and gate outs and external control inputs for pitch and filter. I never tried them when I owned this keyboard. I did make a video running a (out of tune) MicroMoog through the External Input and using the RS-505's Ensemble effect (check out my Channel for video). In addtion to the stereo audio outs, there is a seperate out for the bass section.
ОтветитьHi, does it have CV/Gate in?
ОтветитьI see that the filter is fully opened (cutoff slider is completely up, right?) and my question is: without using ensemble is the string sound (of the synthesizer section) hard, organic, raw enough? It seems to be always so sweet... Thank you!
ОтветитьMy understanding is that a polyphonic synth is limited to the total number of voice chips or voice boards that the synth contains whereas a paraphonic synth is fully polyphonic using divide-down technology also used in organs. The sonic capabilities of paraphonic instruments are usually not as complex or powerful as a true polyphonic synth. I'm sure someone else could explain it better.
ОтветитьWhat are the differences (lacks) in comparison with a polyphonic machine? What does it mean "paraphonic"? Thank you and, another time, great job!
ОтветитьI only had the keyboard a few weeks before receiving a great offer for it, so I did not spend much time with it. If I were to take an educated guess, I would imagine the LFO is for the Synthesizer section and the Vibrato for Strings and Bass.
ОтветитьI love the feeling you get when hearing beautiful analog string sounds. Feels like you melt inside. This, the Juno's and the JX3P strings are the best I've heard!
Ответитьawesome great synth
ОтветитьTHanks! The "Big 3" will never make anther analog synth, too expensive to R&D, manufacture and too small of a market to sell to. Yes, there are a lot of us analog synth-hedz out there, but the ROMpler workstation crowd is much larger. Fortunately, we've got Dave Smith, Moog Music, a few EU companies and real soon: Tom Oberheim. Be sure to subscribe to my Channel for updates - I've got a pretty decent "collection."
ОтветитьSell it to me and I'll treat it right!
ОтветитьThank you for the kind words. Your best bet to find one is on eBay. I kind of regret selling this one. I sold this one to Analog US who has it listed for $3500. It sounds great, but it's pretty much a one trick pony like the TB-303: both do one thing - very well. Be sure to subscribe to my Channel for updates of future videos. I plan to make some vocoder demos (Korg DVP-1 & Roland SVC-350) very soon as I have both for sale that the present time.
Ответить3500 USD!!!WTF. Buy yourself a nice modular! Great sounds though!
ОтветитьThis synth is beautiful! The sounds on this and the other video are fantastic! Well done. I'd buy one!
ОтветитьSo much Juno-ish sounds out of that keyboard. The chours seems to sound almost the same as the Juno chorus
ОтветитьDamn right, sounds marvellous!
Ответить1:49 - f23king amazing sounding!!!
