Transitioning to the Senate Intelligence Bureau, he was dedicated to seeking out corrupt senators, earning him enemies within the bureau and the Senate. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine then invited Yularen to a task force investigating Separatism within the Republic. But the Senate viewed this unit as a threat to their authority and dissolved it. Palpatine then persuaded Yularen to enlist in the Republic Navy and assigned him to Anakin Skywalker’s Jedi cruiser. While he admired Skywalker’s talents, the Clone Wars provided him with a front row view of the Jedi’s disregard for orders and security protocols. Palpatine’s New Order offered Yularen a fresh opportunity to combat corruption, and he rose through the ranks of the Imperial Security Bureau, earning a prestigious assignment on the Death Star battle station.
