Thanks for everything at its. My mate grew up in Northenden literally 50 yards from you. Always strange as a kid, being that close to a united and Ireland Ledgend. Your son is a quality lad. We all used to play footy together on the park. All the best to you Sir. ✌️

Paul McGrath made the game look easy, he was so strong and fast, no one could get the better of him, he was so cool and economical with the ball, brilliant in the air, i used to go to all the ireland games in the 80s and 90s, we didnt know how lucky we were

The guy is an introvert who used alcohol as a crutch as a way of fitting in in an extroverts world. Unfortunately it lead to addiction but he seems to have gotten on top of it thankfully. Lovely man and a truly great player.

I went to my first Villa game in 1978 and the man is simply the best player I’ve seen in a Villa shirt.

Everyone talks about his performances in the ‘94 World Cup, but he played like that every week for the Villa.

The best centre half in the premier league era, yet nobody ever mentions him. If he played for England he'd be in everyone's greatest premier league team but no fear. Ledley King May not have had the alcohol problems but also had the knee issues, he was excellent was King, maybe half as good as McGrath which is a huge compliment to him

Liverpool signed Phil Babb off the back of Irelands game against Italy in USA 94. It was Paul McGrath that made him look good in that game. Paul was phenomenal in that game. They signed the wrong centre back!

Greatest centre half I've ever seen in the Premier League. Amazing, bearing in kind he was struggling with chronic knees. Makes me laugh when you hear pundits talk about the best defenders and he never gets mentioned. Miles ahead of the likes of Terry, Ferdinand and all the foreign defenders
