Skyrim: 5 More Odd and Rare Random Encounters You May Have Missed in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim

That first encounter I’ve had in my most recent play through without even doing any dark brother hood quests. I think he’s a guarantee spawn after a certain level or something.

Last time I found Balbus, he was being murdered to death by two bandits, and I couldn't kill them in time to save him, so he just died. I couldn't talk with him, sadly.
I still looted the fork from him tho.

And by the way, it’s three Morag Tong assassins, not a singular one.

How would the morag tong react if they knew ur character destroyed the brotherhood?

My favourite random encounter is balbus and my least favourite is maiq the liar.

I wear the nightingale armor all the time. I actually ran into the Thief and he approached me saying 'hail nightingale' and he gave me 500 gold!

One random encounter I have quite often is when your approached by an npc named "frightened woman" which tells you to go stop some bandits at mistwatch. I have this encounter alot

Tbh, I am absolutely more afraid of the morag tong than the ebony warrior. I only just faced him for the first time a few days ago, but they’ve killed me dozens of times!

In my game, Balbus spawned at the entrance to Helgen and stayed permanently there. Unfortunately other things liked spawning there as well. A pair of spiders took him out one day when I left from storing things in the keep.

The cragslane cave is also a quest location for a riften quest about the skooma trade

Eola looks different from how I remember her

Cragslane is also the location where the Jarl of Riften sends you to stop the skooma operation in the city.

I recently saw a ghostly horse and Rider combo. The rider being headless. While playing Skyrim. What the heck was going on?

I met Balbus just outside of Riverwood. I hadn't started the Dark Brotherhood questline, though. I picked his pocket and took his fork. It didn't wirk, so I just reloaded and killed him. I still carry the fork.

Big fan but your first sentence made 0 sense, “hey guys Nate here and Skyrim is a very large place…” 😂

The other day I met a couple Redguard warriors interrogating a woman (this was AFTER I completed In My Time of Need) and then as the guys walked off, I saw them get ambushed by wolves, and the guys killed the wolves easily before I could do anything to help. And then, a minute or so later, I heard a voice of a guy calling out to me, telling me to come closer, but it was a trap set by a vampire, and I killed her, the lesser vampire assisting her, and the thrall they were using as bait.

N my first play though I went to the pit wolf Arena with Lydia and the bouncer out front was to powerful and took off lydia's head and I ran away.

I'm sorry there was choice to NOT side with cannibals? Wow, that's very inlighting. Now I can choose to be a cannibal of my own free will HELL YEAH, bring me a fat man!

On a previous playthrough i actually got the random thief encounter. I was an ordinary member then. Yea it was cool.

Even I have encountered this guy talking about the gourmet and I ignored him i come back someone killed him and I looted his body and sold his things and that was that

I remember finding the wolf pits and clearing out the fighting ring, then as I was leaving the area (just hopping from unexplored location to unexplored location), only about two minutes walk away I have the escaped dogs encounter, and I shrugged it off as "well, guess I approached from the wrong side" (I rarely take roads in Skyrim, cheesing up and through mountains is so much more fun)

I'm lvl 80 and a nightingale but I've never had the dialogue appear im gonna try later

Just found out yesterday you shouldn’t look for castle volkihar before speaking to Isran, otherwise you won’t be able to enter the castle.

Crazy how the dragonborn has to assume the identity of someone else to get even a sliver of praise for their "work."

Apparently killing the World Eater is nothing when compared to the skills of a random ass chef who makes food for the emperor.

Cragslane had skooma kingpins no? There’s that questline in riften about it

fun fact: balbus my not despawn after you encounter him and if he dies you'll never see him again though your not losing anything save for a respawning deadra heart if you got everything from him, it does suck that this can happen.

Ok I found this Balbus guy dead, in the early stages of my playthrough, and some Stormcloaks standing over him, telling me to mind my own business. But I could loot his fork though.

I get the usual dark brotherhood, bandits and patrols, but I also get the theif who stole something from a hunter, gives it to u, tells u not to snitch and sneaks away.

The first one is actually wrong in a way. Yes, the encounter is completely possible, but its not limited to one quest. I didn't even see agency's are dino and I saw balbus walking around.

I once got attacked by some dude in rags and no weapon who's inventory was full of skooma. I killed him and kept going and then I found a skooma dealer who also attacked me after I questioned the legality of his product.

I encountered balbus outside of riften before I even did the quest to let you in the dark brother hood. I was like wtf is he talking about the gourmet I’m a level 5 and haven’t even thought about dark brotherhood stuff yet 💀
