This is the way movies used to be made not too long ago, before CGI. Brave stuntmen (and women) performed astounding acrobatics to captivate audiences, while the filmmakers and editors managed to amalgam visuals with storyline in order to provoke emotions. Period. It's a movie, it's exciting and entertaining and nothing else matters. Sometimes I feel sorry for today's viewers. They're so busy judging what they're seeing that most of them have forgot how to enjoy a movie.

THat's a Cadillac Allante Northstar edition. double the horse-power, it's an American collectible classic. They don't make 'em anymore. It gets noticed, that's all I'm saying.

Designed and manufactured in the Ferari plant in Italy, with a Cadillac engine installed in Detroit.. What a great car, Cadillac Allante'.

When I was a child, I saw the trailer on TV and I got kind of excited about it, asked my mom to take me to see at the cinema at that time when going to the movies was out of the question because we couldn't afford it, but... my mom actually took me to see Terminal Velocity amd I loved it. It is one of my all-time fave movies, and both Charlie Sheen and Natassja Kinski became one of my fave actors too :)

I HATE this scene!!!! Just like in Thelma and Louise with the 66 Thunderbird going over a cliff........why is it always the WRONG cars that get destroyed???? I hate these scenes for that very reason. I LOVE my Cadillac Allante!!!!!

If you look closely, the Cadillac Allante' in the scene has vent windows and a Cadillac logo on the third brake light; the 1993 Allante' had neither of these. The 1993 Allante' was the only year equipped with the Northstar engine.

One of the best sustained one-damn-thing-after-another action sequences in the last 30 years. The whole time from when the two planes take off to the fistfight with James Gandolfini on the wind farm is beautifully conceived (such a simple, genius idea to put a clock on a rescue by having it in a plummeting car) with incredible stunt work. It just barrels ahead without looking back (or down). The film as a whole is good fun with high spirits and a cheeky (sometimes literally) sense of humor. And Nastassja Kinski was never more attractive and winning than in this role.

The score (by Joel McNeely) for this scene is also very good, almost counting down like a timer in spots while also being broad and expansive as the scene requires.

you can't really feel that sorry for the villain dying there since he chose to hold onto the car after knowing full well it was being backed up out of the plane, and that he didn't have a parachute. he was a pure dumbass.

the thing about attempting this is that you only have 1 minute of freefall time jumping from 12,000 feet to where it'll be time to pull your parachute chord otherwise splat you're toast
