That shoe was rough. Many big bets would have lost.

It is important for everyone to know that card counting often does not help the player card counter. When the count gets high and the deck becomes rich in 10s it becomes good for the dealer as well. Just because you know the count does not mean you will win.

I liked every thing about this except for the fact that there were 18 tens or aces behind the cut card. I don’t mind setting up the deck so that there’s a high count but at least make it so we get more of those high cards, it’s more fun that way. I would have gone broke on the way this deck was set up. Max bets through a good portion of it but no high cards came because they were all behind the cut card.

It’s a great video even with the count and playing being so weird.

Are you doing high cards are -1 or -2?

Im able to count while playing BS but I was losing the count sometimes and dont know why, usually I was off by 1 but when I just count and dont play basic strategy I keep the count almost every time

Excellent video. I have a couple of suggestions which would make these a better learning experience. You could mark the discard a with a tiny colored strip of tape for each deck to help people get better at estimating the remaining decks. Also, as long as you already have the running count, you could also put the true count in the corner. I would put the running count and true count in the lower right hand corner every two to three hands. Then a person practicing can put a small post-it note or piece of one over the running count and true count, run you video multiple times, and gets lots of practice, while you only have to deal one deck. Try eg. RC (running count) = 15, TC (True Count) = 3.

What kept throwing me off was as I'm trying to count l, all the numbers he was saying out loud was throwing me off. I noticed some of the number totals he said matched my running count lol
So yes I need more practice to not be distracted by all the numbers being thrown out loud.

Crazy how 90% of that shoe was high count and tons of max bets. Just got unlucky. Wish we could finish the shoe as the count was the highest after that last hand

If im playing casually and trying to keep track at the casino, does being off the count by 1 2 or 3 matter that much? Can I still get an edge?
Or if im not going all-in on counting, should I waste my time. I would say im very good at basic strategy, but that soft AA7 hand you had earlier i would've hit, so the small things like that im still learning from these videos.

For the algorithm! I really appreciate this. It really helps to practice with rolling count and true count. I find it to be a realistic speed to the casino. Thanks for doing this A1.

These are great, I can keep the count pretty ok and can play perfect basic strategy, but this is the first time I tried to combine both and I failed miserably haha, great for training
