Just found you, and Jesus, where have you been in my life. Take my subscription.
(Drinker Effect has a nice ring to it by the way.)
Grifting is the new ultimate hustle that relies on blindness and idiocy. They rely on you not knowing facts and trying to make their opinions and beliefs into truth.
P.S. I still believe phase 4 Marvel is horrible and that Joker is a better villain than Thanos.
Ive grown to absolutely detest hearing the critical drinker speak
Ответить0 context for the character in the thumbnail makes them look like a smarmy arogant douchebag.
ОтветитьI agree with everything Th3Birdman is saying except for the Thanos > Joker thing. That's some legit bullshit. Yes in a dbz power scaling sense Thanos>Joker, but in terms of good writing no Joker>Thanos.
ОтветитьIs it bad that I thought the thumbnail was a representation of a grifter rather than something they were reacting to?
Ответитьyour definition of media grifter seems identical to the definition of a demagogue. Am I missing a distinction?
ОтветитьMan im learning alot. I might put this to use and create my own grift channel and make some income
ОтветитьJeremy has balls for actually walking it back
ОтветитьWho the crap is Paul Farrel? Cool essay though, new subscriber
ОтветитьSure 😐😐😐
ОтветитьI hate all those grifters you called out. Excellent video. Subscribed. 🙂
ОтветитьWhen the grifting fails
They double time on damage ctrl
I was wondering why bounding in the comics was Schilling so hard for this Rippa guy's comics and now I know why.
ОтветитьI'm confused. Wasn't the blue pill the one that kept people in the Matrix and the red pill the one that helped break their reality?
ОтветитьGod that smash tv thing….. it’s painful to look at
Oh look we made a black character white and have big boobs and got rid of a gay couple…. It’s just ass
These guys would probably be happy to offend people
Man I fucking followed people like critical drinker
I’m sorry I was one of 10,000 guilble people,
I'll admit im a new comic book fan. And the only way i'll debate a comic fan fully is if it's about something I've actually read or seen. But the people that are like the people who just watch one Marvel movie and assume that they are experts i dont even bother.. on that note, i actually love your videos, and you've actually educated me on comics even. Without you i wouldn't have known Gambit had a healing factor or that Thor Love and Thunder was actually based off a comic.
ОтветитьTbh I still remember the times when criticizing a movie that had women or minorities in it was met with scrutiny. People used to comment 4 paragraph responses and list every possible qualifier they could to try and prove they weren't racist /sexist , etc. I think that's a huge part of what pushed anti woke into the mainstream. And now some people act like they were receptive in the beginning, but NOW it's out of control.
ОтветитьMan would’ve been so much better if Bernie won.
ОтветитьNot going to lie though, I never really thought Forspoken was that good. But my arguments never brought up woke or DEI. And I was a centrist a year ago.
ОтветитьI always liked CInema wins over Cinema sins because even cinema wins doesn't entirely defend a bad movie but still finds merits and brings up astute points. If anything, I feel like CInema wins was supposed to be an anti cinema-sins but it really ended up being its own thing
ОтветитьThe girl from the Naughty Dog game and Kay from Star Wars: Outlaws may not be knockout supermodels, but they are in no way ugly. Conventionally attractive nowadays is woke and ugly.
ОтветитьI think I remember the Barbie review being the point where I stopped watching the Critical Drinker. I had watched him sporadically and kinda liked the unapologetic takes (that iirc weren't so blatantly bigoted). Just hearing his braindead and factually incorrect take on that movie made me unsubscribe. VERY clear that the guy didn't even watch the movie lol.
Ответитьyou should do asmr, i could lowkey fall asleep to your voice
ОтветитьThey proved Brie Larson right 😂
White men-yucko
Nah I just hate the people that came out of Europe 😂
ОтветитьPeople keep saying shit like "go woke go broke is real make a good game and people will play it" like they don't realize their very statement proves them wrong. A "woke" game and a "good" game are not mutually exclusive. So many good games are accused of being "woke" but when they end up being widely praised suddenly the anti-woke start making us reasons that specific game isn't actually woke.
Ответитьwhat really gets me going is the people being upset over a female protagonist in a game not being overly sexual, both physically and mannerisms-wise, and then calling the game woke. take the new naughty dog announcement, with the shaved head girl. bro, just admit you can’t goon to her and move on, childish bitch.
on some rs tho you’ve been getting me through work with your video essays, thx man
Just came here to say that she isn’t ugly
because Aang isn’t ugly.😂
I'm almost 40, and I've been gaming since I was 4 years old (that was back in the late 80s). I've seen the medium evolve in leaps and bounds over the last 35 years...and honestly video game characters have only gotten more attractive as the tech has evolved, allowing more and more body types and character types to be used successfully. These whining bozos really have no idea what they take for granted.
I guess the one saving grace is that Gamergate 2.0 hasn't really caught on because it just isn't connecting like it did last time (not that the OG Gamergate was in anyway legitimate; it was also total bullshit).
The Keynesian beauty contest is so ingrained in nature that it is likely the reason for antlers and paradise birds.
ОтветитьI think the sad thing is is the grifters win with games
Stuff like owl house and Barbie succeed well. Wicked and such do well but this game will die or just won’t perform successfully enough
This generation changes the meaning of words at-whim. You're attempting to tattoo a loogie--definitions are meaningless.
At some point you may very well find yourself in a room with Thunderf00t.
There are too many pillars acting as the support structure for them, addressing this 💩necessitates a multi-pronged approach. We need to tackle the root causes--the echo chamber effect of social media, the decline of critical thinking skills in our education system, and the widespread dissemination of misinformation.
What's the path toward doing that part?
This particular method of talking about societal issues reminds me of the Black Mirror episode where the guy appears on the 'America's Got Talent' ripoff and threatens to off himself, but is applauded by the judges and so becomes a part of the machine.
I think the machine IS the problem.
What is the solution? How do we create conversations that create a momentum that creates positive changes?
Media grifters might very well some of the most morally bankrupt people out there. Really think about it. In an age of rampant misinformation, where entire careers can be ruined by a bad joke, and divides within society are growing extreme and in some cases even violent, these people actively choose to make the world worse.... for the sake of views and money.
As illustrated by movie and comic grifters who regularly complain about stuff they have never watched or read, they have zero investment in the media itself. And with how quickly some of them change their minds on something in regards to its success or general perception, they don't really care about the agenda aspect either. They care only for themselves. While their own hatreds and biases play a pretty big part in it, they'll gladly ignore them the moment it appears they'll have to actually back up such claims with facts and logic. It's why the rest of the time they'll keep making "anti-woke" videos in hopes of shifting popular consensus in their favour.
Spreading hate speech for the sake of getting attention. How pathetic is that?
I also like how during drinker's description of Sarah Connor's antics she easily snaps a key in the lock in with only one hand and from an awkward position.
ОтветитьAkright folks, I found my echo chamber. I’m gonna chill here for a little while if you don’t mind
ОтветитьEric's downfall into grifting is so tragic
ОтветитьOn Star Wars grifters, I used to watch a grifter who hilariously mocked shows I didn't watch and couldn't verify. Then I remember watching a video he did on Andor and that single handedly opened my eyes to what you said about pre-emptively disliking something.
There was a scene where an uptight villain with delusions of grandeur tries to portray himself as a heroic professional. In that scene, the grifter insulted the writing by saying the writers "failed to write a hero". He then called the character an uptight villain with delusions of grandeur and manages to correctly predict his complex flaws, arc, and motivations from a SINGLE SCENE before other episodes came out. He also failed to notice subtext and show, don't tell while bashing the show for treating the audience like children in expecting them to believe developments with "0 explanation" (ex. Someone using indirect threats turning out to be a thug). He was so bad faith that he refused to continue reviewing Andor when the later episodes confirmed his analysis received near univeral praise.
He absolutely refused to accept anything was intentional because that would require giving credit. He thought any success was the writers being so dumb, they completely failed at doing something malicipusly bad, if that makes sense.
For bonus points, he called a beloved character who hadn't appeared yet woke solely based on the actress's description in an interview and tried portraying the actress as dumb. In the end, the character was lauded for complexity and easily going from "sympathetic underdog who cleverly learns from mistakes" to "love to hate once you remember she was always the villain."
