Thank you I've improved with my line work and such been drawing for four months and I've wondered if drawing with reference wasn't valid but thanks now I know I need to learn more about anatomy before picking up the pen then thinking I suck when I don't put something as good as my peers out

I swear I've been going from vids to vids thinking "this guy as every tutorial you need"

But what if i want to like draw a 'landscape' from my imagination , like in our art class our teacher described the view and we were supposed to draw it so i imagined it but i couldnt actually draw what i imagined , my dsketch seemed very childish and weird so how do i improve on this? like improving on actual landscape imagination and not fictional characters??

The point about reference is so accurate. I'm asked a lot from my art-mates "how can you draw purely on your imagination?", "I JUST DON'T!". The thing is, I know the basics like poses, anatomy, angles etc. So I just draw the easy not-detailed sketch with circles/squares and then based my knowledge of anatomy I draw it. If it's any existing character, I just look for pictures to get a reference on their clothing, unique marks etc. Basically, I use my imagination for only the scene or pose that the character is gonna be in, which we can all do, other than that, it's just experience and references. Don't be shy just practice
