Can you help me? I had a head neck really bad injury 5 years ago. I’m left with a crap ton of scar tissue intertwining from the occiput to c4 pulling yanking on my head and c1. It feels like tinfoil I’m pretty sure I have it even around the skull. Challenging trying to fix it without chronically knocking out my atlas. Also oats of it are very deep. Any suggestions please I have no quality of life

Let's be honest, the reason why fascia has been ignored in modern medicine is because modern medicine is bought and paid for and is all about treatment and life long customers. If they let this information out to the masses surgeons would simply be put out of business. It's the same reason why diet isn't considered with regard to health. No one would ever have to see a doctor if we all knew that eating a proper diet would keep virtually every disease away. The more you know...

Great video!

Fascia has been known about in KALARIPPAYATTU (the martial and healing art of south India) for perhaps 5000 years. They called it MAMSA PESCHI and the martial and healing art was specifically designed around it. In fact every technique worked to condition the fascial web as a whole, and every martial application, utilised the entirety of the web, to launch a full body counter attack. It was understood, even then, that this kind of counter attacking technique would be the most effective, as gross body actions are more accessible to the organism when in a fight or flight state (bpm 160)

you don't find somewhat arrogant to label the discussion about Fascia and the self-defined method as innovative and unique? Fascia is a concept with a long history; it's not 'new' simply because official Western medicine hesitated to acknowledge it before. This rhetoric can be quite misleading and ignorant. It's important to recognize and respect the existing knowledge base. Such assertions could lead to misunderstanding and misrepresentation. Perhaps a more nuanced approach would be beneficial.

I was in a car accident. And my fascia is just catching up now with the trauma. I felt sticky spider like webs coming from my feet. And my brain skull size reprocessed itself. The neurons activated causing electricity to surge throughout my spine to the left side of my head.

Not completely related but an exact year ago I almost died from necrotizing fasciitis. A gash I got on my back (half the size of a dime) from banging myself into a piece of furniture became infected with strep, a freak accident said the doctor. A day and a half later I became septic and underwent two emergency surgeries to remove the infected fascia down to my muscle. I am blessed to be alive and have gained an astronomical appreciation for my fascia.

Its great to see more alternative approaches towards treating chronic pain are gaining value year after year. Im sure these muscle fascia approach can help a lot of patients. Also, i would like to contribute more about this chronic pain issue. Firs of all, it is a COMPLEX problem involving many specialtists including physiatrist, psychologist, physical therapist, surgeon and alternative medicine practitioners. Considering this fact is important to have a broad perspective: muscle fascia can be considered one among many etiologies. See a specialist. Chronic pain is complex there may be A LOT more to uncover.

“Fascia release” seems like a misleading concept.. fascia is very durable and doesn’t change its structure just because of a massage or foam rolling session. If it did, I’d have dents in my shoulders from wearing a backpack. I ask everyone who sings the praises of myofascial release techniques what exactly is changing when you do those techniques, and no one can provide a mechanism. And strangely, no one seems to be bothered by this. Fascia is definitely responsible for carrying tension across far lengths of the body, but the idea that massage or stretching is modifying fascia seems wrong by all accounts. Isn’t the research now suggesting that such techniques work by reducing the pain threshold, thus achieving increased ROM through changes in the nervous system? Or that massage and rolling causes changes in circulation in dehydrated area of the fascia? What is the point of the hype around “releasing the fascia” then? There seems to be a lack of professional responsibility in communicating this science. Any answers would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!

Correction. Been ignored by western science. Not others. Western modern medicine INSISTED it was a passive thing. Even when they were told it's not. Well I suppose the upside is it allowed the arrogance and greed of pharmaceutical/chemical companies to make untold, obscene amounts of money in pain killers and whatnot, by refusing to allow effective treatments to become mainstream. Never mind the suffering when there's money to be made seems to be their motto.

I have stage 3 lipedema. The pressure of the lipomas have gradually worn down the sheath of fascia beneath them. I cannot apply any pressure to release the fascia because the lipoma are very, very sensitive to any pressure. Is there a way to release the fascia w/out exerting pressure on it?

Very cool. I've had a number of injuries throughout my life. Had a miracle with my rhombus pulling my spine out of place 20 years. Then two herniated discs healed in 16 days. 43° water ocean water 20 minutes each time. Never did it before in my life. It works I believe this too from your toes to your fingertips everything's affected or overcompensates. No surgery!!
