PlayStation Vita Slim Review

PS Vita needs a Final Fantasy, GTA and Metal Gear Solid before it really starts to sell. I mean seriously, GTA on the original PSP was an insane proposition, and it worked so well.

I would have bought this had they had a micro sd card slot

Nintendo is a children based company, they direct all their products to children, not adults, the guy saying that the 3ds blows compared to this handheld is biased, 3ds has NO GAMES... the ps vita still has psp games that u can play like gta liberty city stories and others, the ds has MARIO, like cmon, everyone has to be biased on the gamespot comment section. AND IM A MICROSOFT FAN LML... im not looking for their handhelds anytime soon cause they handle computers, consoles and other products.

Sony & Nintendo should just make handheld games and port old console games to Android/iOS. Much rather play these games on a high res smartphone or a tablet than paying for yet another device...

I just got the slim and I absolutely love it. This guy makes way to big of a deal about the screen. Played both and seriously isn't that big of a difference,but yes there is one. I've run many games on it already and cannot recommend it enough. Excellent companion for the ps4! Playing ps4 on it is awesome :-)

Vita has great games
(but due to Development restrictions it could have alot more),
but the over expensive addons (memcards and such)  and lack of Tv output is odd considering PSP had that and IR-RF.
  Also the file system is a joke, it makes copying games saves a chore at best.
The new cutbacks are laughable and unless Sony opens the console alittle more it will sadly die.
Sad as it is a fun system despite those annoyances.

i know the vita is region locked but is psn also? Meaning if I buy a vita slim the US can i still use € in the psn store?

1gb of internal memory oh wow they really couldn't put in more and still maintain the same/similar price tag? You gotta be kidding me.

I'll stick with my 3G PS Vita even tho I don't really use it much.I really hope sony brings out a grand theft auto or gran turismo for the vita that will make me pick up my vita again.

Can the fw update make the lcd screen on ps vita slim look deeper and better in the future??

One thing I don't get is how is the Vita Slim supposed to have better battery life than the original by switching to a LCD. LCDs use a less efficient backlight vs OLED which uses less energy because each diode emits its own light as it is used so you aren't wasting as much energy. I think the battery improvement would be due to the fact that when more accurately compared to the 3G models you don't have extra hardware & processes running in the backround to draw from the battery. Funny thing with cost is that OLEDs can be made with cheaper materials but production cost and tech value is still higher than LCDs, but in the future OLEDs may end up relatively more cost effective.

The original model is at my local store at only 125 bucks. I had 2 1000 models(original model), first one got stolen,second one was used and had a small crack in it, the crack got bigger until it was unusable. I might get a third one because I loved the device/games and it would go good with my ps4 for remote play.

mmm times are changing, I gota get me a VITA now done with the 3ds I thought my 3ds xl would have the Anime games I wanted but no so good bye, guess I will just use it for drawing when I feel like it. I cant even remember the last game I played on it but that's just me. The Vita seems more appealing right now and its got older console games from like ps1 eg crash bandicoot, im in love with gaming again and finally excited! again, just how I feel, feel the way you want  

I really wanted a vita. But it just does not have the game library to warrant a purchase. I bought a 3ds xl instead.

should i sell my PS3 and buy PS Vita? I already own a PS4 =)

Hi I am looking to buy a gaming console I am a big fan of call of duty (online) and fifa and I am totally confused between PS vita and ps4 I do like the ps4 a lot but its costing lot more than the Vita (ps4 is$200 more than vita) and vita is also portable but I am afraid to compromise with graphics and list of games. But I don't mind it until I don't get bored with either ultimately I just wanna get entertained and enjoy. On the last note I have owned a ps3 which I was totally satisfied and happy with but it stopped working and asked for big repairs so I decided to sell it out. Thought I don't mind spending extra 200$ rather wasting it on something not perfect for me. Pls help I don't know which is better for me only u guys can help pls help !! Urgent !!

I have a question.I have the persona 4 golden skin for the ps vita.Will it fit on the slim?

I got a ps vita first then sold It to get the new nintendo 3ds xl. I actually regret my decision. Personally the 3ds xl was too uncomfortable to hold in long periods for me. The games was also one thing. For me I feel like the games for the vita was better. I was immediately getting bored of the games on the 3ds. Although thats just me

I still got my vita.

If you play on the slim vita a lot you can notice the analog sticks are inferior and degrade faster than the old model and it's causes issues during gameplay with the system sensing that they're being moved when you're not touching them. Also get a screen protector because if your hands are the slightest bit dirty when you touch the touch screen, it starts to glitch up and move by itself compared to the old model where this almost never happens probably because the slim is a more budget version.

Original Vita is the best.

I prefer the slim because the 1000 can screen burn and other problems with the screen
