KamAZ-4350 Destroyed Near an Oil Refinery by Artillery

Think we are seeing some new spotter drones, they are exceptional stable and have very high quality camera.
Even under very hight zoom there is almost no jitter.

Artilery can't effectively destroy buildings with multiple floors. Except 203 mm ones. Shells will hit higher floors and roof. For this targer you need aviation

A good rogering followed by a malleting should be standard procedure.

We DO need more malleting whenever possible.

I have the feeling that the z-tards don't have much electronic warfare in that area, so the Ukraine ca use this better drone. On the k-2 channel they said kill equipment over z-tards.

The truck was far more valuable than those ruzzian soldiers whose combined worth doesn't even match 5% of the truck's cost.

No need to waste a bunch of rounds to demolish buildings and potentially destroy large parts of a valuable facility in territory that Ukraine wants to reclaim, just to kill a few goons.
They were already rendered effectively useless without transport and too scared to move for fear of getting another visit from Mr Arty. One Kamaz for three shells is a pretty good exchange rate.

Take away transportation, lower enthusiasm and morale.

Some of those buildings are critical with controls for the plant. More that is destroyed, longer for rebuilding post war

Possible that Ukraine will now target the buildings with JDAMs which definitely have the needed payload to cause major damage. One can hope.

IMO that first strike was not a near miss. It landed right by the refinery's pipe routing, and started a fire. My guess is the Kamaz was a target of opportunity that just happened to be in the same area. What chemicals are produced at the refinery? Are they strategically useful to the invaders?

The refinery looks like it had seen much better days but it was probably unclear to Ukraine where is what, as Russians might use buildings for storage, and as we have seen with Enahodar they wouldn’t shy away from storing explosives in such a explosive site.

If the refinery starts burning uncontrollably the smoke it emits might cause visibility trouble for Ukraine they don’t want now they have such HD video quality on their drones.

Also an environmental disaster to destroy some mobiks is probably not worth it for Ukraine, maybe hence they took out the trucks and left it at that.

Also troops without verhicles might wait a bit and then call for a ride when they think the coast is clear, bringing a new and juicy target to the now zeroed in position.

The bigger the building, the harder it is to take down it can be done it, but take more explosive weapon to do the job because you have to do it in one hit most of the time people can run away, and hide the truck was easy and actually more important! Slava Ukraine!

that little building with the pipes going in looks like a lab area where they are probably to make explosives.

I've seen a few videos from this area and both times they were targeting not just the trucks but mortar positions

Hitting the truck has a few effects. Destroy ammo/supplies the Russians are carrying, destroy the truck itself to deny logistic support in the future, put the enemy soldiers on foot to increase their chances of capture or killing.

Looks like a hole in side of the building at 3 minutes into the video after the cut maybe they had already hit the buildings during the cut

Harassment fire. Supplies have to run out sooner or later. Quite sooner if artillery gets them first. The crews are safe in the buildings, but could be a problem if they stepped outside for a careless smoke. All that oil and flammable stuff around, who knows what could happen. Слава Україні!!!
